Does anyone have input on Mission Space Green (the tame version) for kids?

DS will be almost 6 and I wanted to know if the tame version is appropriate. I've only been on the original version, and I would not take him on that.

Thanks!

It is fine. I went with my just turned 6 year old in March. He loved it. He tends to not love scary rides (he said he would never do Tower of Terror again), but he loved this one.

Either side would be appropriate for a 6 yr old if they are tall enough.
All depends on if they get sick on spinning rides or not.

I'm curious why you think the non spinning ride wouldn't be appropriate?

DD rode both sides at 6 without a problem. Myself on the other hand, not so much. NEVER agian. I was soooo sick!! The only difference is the spinning however, so if you think one is inappropiate, the other would be also. I cannot even imagine what would make it inappropiate however???

My son rode both sides when he was 6, no problems at all. He had to ride the spinny side with dh, though - I don't do spinning

Forgot to say my DS went on the original spinning version when it first opened and did fine. He was barely tall enough, I think he breathed in and held it until she moved the stick! We went to it first thing in the morning to not take any chances on shrinking, lol.

At least go on the non spinning side, it is a great ride especially for a 6 yr old. What 6 yr old hasn't wondered what traveling in space wouldn't be like?

Still curious about what you feel is inappropriate.

Mom, dad, DD10 and DD8 all went on both. Only DD10 enjoyed the spinny one. The rest of us got off looking for something cool to eat to settle our stomachs.

DS5 has been riding it since he was tall enough which has been since he just turned 4. I too am curious why you wouldn't find MS appopriate for a kid, especially the green side :confused3

This past July both my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter (the family daredevil) rode it and loved it. I would say give it a shot and enjoy

My 7yo thought the "tame" side was boring. We ran out of time to go back and do the other side because of a thunderstorm, but I think he would have loved the other side.

I am not the OP but my guess would be wondering if it is too "real" therefore could be scary. I'm glad this question was asked because I've been wondering about it for my DD. I've been on the spinning side and during the ride I almost blacked out. Afterward I had a headache and stomachache the rest of the day. Spinning never has bothered me so I have no idea why I had that reaction. I've not had a ride ever affect me in any way except that ride so I've been nervous to allow DD to go on it, even the non-spinning side. I'll never go on it again so DH will have to take her!;)

OP here. Yes, this is what I meant by appropriate. Perhaps I should have written "age appropriate" or "fun"

DS was 4 when we rode the green side and he LOVED it! He wants to work at NASA and be a "space man" so he took the Mission parts very seriously. He was into pushing all the buttons and such. Me on the other hand...even on the green side it was a bit of a rough ride. The fan blowing air on my face was my only saving grace! :lmao:

Adults seem to have many more problems with it than kids. This exactly how I felt on and after the rdie, but DD loved it and wanted to go agian!
I have seen mots of adults come out of it sick, but I don't believe I have ever seen a kid get sick on it.

DS (if he is tall enough) would love Mission: SPACE green team. Orange is too intense. You should also be fine with green.

You can't or shouldn't make a blanket statement like that!!! If the child is tall enough then they are fine to go on it. My kids loved the Orange side, heck my 5 yr old went on the original before they toned it down and made 2 sides.
many, many children of all ages go on the orange side. It is totally up to the child and how they feel.
