Looking for feedback as to the intensity of Mission Space. My 6yo DD is a thrill seeker. She would ride ToT all day if she could, and loves the SM drop. Do you think she'll be okay on Mission Space? I'm NOT a ride person, and cannot handle spinning, but my DH can ride it with her. Feedback from people who've had their kids ride it would be much appreciated!

My son was 8 and it was way too intense for him and myself. So much that we will not be going back on that ride again. The pressure we both felt in our chests was so much that we both had to talk each through the ride so not to panic. Sorry if this seems scary in my description, but that is how we both felt on it and we are both ride people.

My six year old loved it but we rode the green side not the more intense orange side.
I think the line for the green side is often shorter so maybe try green first?

We went along time ago in 2005. I think it was a new ride at that time. I don't recall there being two different intensities.

Def 2 different intensities. Green being more sedate. Orange actually having mild/moderate "g force" sensations from spinning.

I used to ride both with zero problem - but my last 2 trips, I found the closed quarters almost panic inducing... it is very tight no matter which side you ride.

I'm wondering this same exact thing. I don't know anyone who has done the green side, but I know I'm not letting her ride the orange side. If you've ridden green--can you describe the sensations? Is it similar to another ride? there is no spin, correct? So what does it do?

No spinning, some vibration, tilting, and a bit of a bump at the crash landing at the end... ;) all very tame.

My DD first rode at age 5, and loved it. (The green side) To me, it's most similar to Star Tours. It's basically a simulator ride, you are trying to land on Mars and there are 4 people in each capsule. I would think she'd have no problems if she likes Tower of Terror. It's in a small space so not good for those with major claustrophobia issues. It's the orange side that's intense and I, personally, would not take a six year old on the orange side. The green side doesn't do all the spinning.

You know your child best. I'd say if he wants to ride it, let him.

I brought my 4 year old god daughter on it (orange side) and she wasn't even phased honestly.

My kids rode orange at age 5 and 6- no issues. i think it is a personal issue and how you do with the spinning. There was only 1 time i felt a little woozy after riding- and it was when I went on it when I was hungry.

The green side is no spinning- no more intense than Star Tours really. You are strapped in and move around while watching a large screen. Dinosaur at AK is way more intense than green side in my opinion.

I think it's one of those things that you won't know until you try it. We all love thrill rides, so I thought we could handle it like pros; but all four of us were a bit woozy after mission space green, some more than others. For me, it wasn't just the motion, but the smallness of the space, the shoulder straps holding you back...it felt very claustrophobic.

My 6yo LOVED it. We did orange, and I was more nervous than him. He still talks about how awesome it was. He loves all rides, anything that spins, etc.

My 6 year old loved the orange side. And he actually hated ToT. ToT is "scary" - dark scenes, lightening, up and down panic inducing drops. Mission Space is more "intense" - an adrenaline junkie would love it and there's nothing inherently scary about it. If she gets motion sickness or has any type of claustrophobia, I'd definitely be wary, but other than that, she'll probably absolutely love it!

When we rode it (it's been years), there was only the one side (they later added the green one).

My kids both rode it, so my DD must have been maybe 7? She did fine.

Only you know your child best.

My DS9 wants to try this ride next time around...he's a thrill seeker, but I have no urge to go on this ride, lol...I am gonna send him on it with my DH and MIL while I take my DS3 to Character Spot, lol, much much better for me :)

Neither kids is a thrill seeker but DD rode the green side at 6 years old and loved it. (Won't ride ToT and hated Dinosaur.)

Go the green (easy) side. My 6 year old loved it and she is not huge on thrill rides. I don't know if you know anything about Star Tours (the Star Wars ride at DHS), but to us, it is a pretty similar feel. I avoided Mission Space for years, until my DD begged to ride it with her and DH after she had ridden it for the first time. I rode the green side and it turned out I really enjoyed it.

My DD was 5 or 6 when she rode it.
She loves all rides and chose to ride the Orange with me and DH.
She did great!
I really feel like children have a higher tolerance of spinning than most adults.

Green side only. That is, unless your daughter is claustrophobic. If she is, she should not ride at all. If she's not, the green ride should be fun for her.

My son loved the orange side at age 10- he was very into flight and being a pilot. Having gone on it with him (and being ill afterwards), I would never put any young (age 6) child on the orange side.

I'm claustrophobic, so I hated both, but green was at least tolerable physically. Orange was simply too intense, in terms of the deep spinning sensation it produced.

My kids loved it at that age. They have always ridden the orange side.

It make ME sick.
