Do you miss much of the themeing going through the single rider or fastpass line? I might try this ride but the rest of the family won't. If the line were short, would the themeing in and of itself be interesting enough to go through the line even if you planned on using the chicken exit? If they go all the way through with me, will the last chicken exit be easy to spot (they DEFINATELY don't want to ride). If there are multiple chicken exits along the way, would a particular one be recommended? I'm thinking my 4 and 6 year old could play on some mission space playground (?) while they wait for me. Any recommendations? Thanks.

While riding MS 5 different times I have only used the fastpass line or single line.....and have to admit, I didn't know there was much theming in the que area??
So I guess you miss some theming, perhaps those that have waited in the standby line can give us some more info?

And as far as a chicken exit...my daughter (5yr.) was very apprehensive her 1st time and even got to sit in the capsule before she decided she wanted to bail out, there was an extremely nice and attentive CM that helped us throughout that 1st endeavor.
Another great Disney service moment for our family.
By the way she went on MS and rode on through with flying colors when she turned (6) and has ridden it again happily.
Hope this helps.

There wasn't much pre-show stuff that I remember. There was a little movie with one of the guys that played on Apollo 13 (Gary Sheneese(SP?) I think) Of course my mind was mostly focused on all the Warning signs! :scared1:

I was there for the grand opening and walked on with no wait. I went back this last October and the ride was again a walk on. Test track had an hour wait. Go figure! Mission space is awesome. Just get on however you have to.

I seem to recall that you go through the same area no matter which line you are in. Some of the lines may be closer to some of the displays but you still get the overall feel of the area. That being said, the displays are large and off the ground so you can see them from anywhere in the waiting area.

At the exit area there are a lot of cool things for kids and adults to do. There is Mission: Space Race where two groups compete against each other in a game hosted by CMs. That is a lot of fun, you should definitely try it if you have time. There are also lots of other little games to play and a place to make video emails also.

I was in the FP line and I was in the same room as everyone else - for what was in my mind PLENTY of time - if I heard one more warning about getting sick - I just might have!!! :rotfl2:

The FP line really doesn't lose anything related to theming, in my opinion. Most of it happens after the lines merge and after you get off the ride.

As far as exits, there are many, many opportunities to exit. Our DS6 made it all the way into the capsule before he bailed. The harnesses had already come down, and when the CM came by to check to make sure we were ready he was crying. She opened it back up and let him get off with my DW.

We did get him to try again later in the day, and he LOVED it. :teeth:
He now says it was his favorite ride!

I went through both the fast pass line and regular line. The regular line is over to the right side where there is a very big circular thing that goes in a circle showing what astronauts would look like in space. This line snakes a lot. The fast pass (which I believe is also for the single riders) is all the way to the left and it does not snake around. You are able to look over to the regular line where you would be able to see the very big circle thing. Then as you go along in the fast pass line there are pictures of astronauts on the wall. If my memory serves me, when you get up to the front of the line (for all lines) you can see videos of people in the simulators. If you can get a fast pass for this ride I would highly recommend it because the regular line snakes around and makes you feel like cattle. Very hard to lean on the railings because there are people on each side of you. Felt really boxed in.
