We just got back last Saturday and after all the excitement, I decided to ride MS. I read everyone's comments on the boards and I think it really made the anticipation even greater. We went to Epcot on 9/3 and the standby wait time was 15 minutes. Since my wife didn't want to ride, I went in the "single rider" line and the wait was less than 5 minutes. I would highly recommend standing in the single rider line as you go through a separate queue where the line is much shorter.

Anyway, they warn you at least three times that anyone who gets motion sickness, claustrophobic, afraid of the dark, loud noises, etc. should not ride the ride. I felt like I was watching a commercial for a new drug where they list all of the potential side effects..... nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, fatigue, death, ....... Everyone is put into teams of four and they warn you one more time, just in case you weren't listening the other three times. After you stand in front of the pods, they warn you once again. By this time, I looked around and I literally saw half the people exit the ride even before they got on. The nervousness and anxiety was at an all time high now.

The ride itself was incredible, like everyone says, you definitely feel the "g-forces". I made sure my head was rested firmly against the back and that I didn't close my eyes. The feeling was awesome, but unfortunately we ate lunch right before getting on the ride (not a smart move). I didn't "lose it", but I was sure glad we landed on Mars when we did, because I don't think I would've lasted another couple of minutes.

While riding the ride, I could tell that I was spinning (this is the way the create the g-force effect). After exiting the ride, you do feel like you're drunk and it takes some time to regain your balance. I would highly recommend bringing some advil because after about 10 minutes after getting off the ride, I had the worst headache. My advice is to try and ride MS on an empty stomach and if you plan on touring the world showcase the same day, you might want to ride it after touring the showcase so you don't begin your day with a splitting headache. Make sure you bring some advil ( I had to buy mine at the store for a $1 for two tablets) and stand in the single rider line.

Just my .02
