My DH and I are used to doing everything together. When we visited in 2001, my in-laws were with us and watched our DS's while we took on the big rides. This visit we are going solo as a family and the boys are too young for Mission Space. We wondered if it would even be worth the time to go with a bunch of strangers or just maybe skip it and hope for a future trip. It seems like it is a group effort to ride this and have fun.:(

I have done MS at least 6 times and all of them alone. My DD is only 4 and far too young (and short) for MS. We did a baby-swap/fast pass combination that worked very well for us. My DD would play in the kiddy "habitrail" and help with the huge space video game (she would upload the fixes for me).. I had a blast every time I rode the attraction and hooted and cheered for every take-off. I was once with a bunch of Japanese tourists that didn't speak English and it was still fun :). Go, swap, have a great time!

I don't find Mission Space a group event, really. I guess because you are sorta seperated from the other 3 people in your capsule anyways once the seats get situated and such. You dont talk or anything while youre doing it... Its not like Haunted Mansion, or even SPace Mountain, to where you are near and experiencing things with other people.

Def ride it! I think its great!!!!!!

Take the time and ride it! It is the most unique feeling! I can not even find the words to tell you what it feels like but I loved it. You can make it a group thing if you want or you can stay to yourself. We had two total strangers in our pod and by the time it was over we were all hooting together!

I have a tendancy to get motion sickness and I was very afraid to try it but I rode it just fine and would do it again in a second!:Pinkbounc

I totally echo Aimeedyan's comments.
I rode with DH, but it could have been anyone next to me and I would not have noticed.
As much emphasis as they put on looking straight ahead I stared at the screen and did not look to the side once, and it's too loud to talk.
There is a bit of a separation, also between you and the next person, so personally it makes no difference to me who I ride with.
Nice to go with your party if you're able, but it'll be fine if you can't.

Have fun!

I rode it once and it made me sick so, so DH rides alone and loves it...Not a big interaction with others thing, so go for it and do not miss it...:)

Since I have no problems with motion sickness, I rode it by myself in order to see if DH and the boys could handle it. It is a very intense ride. I spent most of my effort focusing on the way the ride makes you feel. It wouldn't have mattered at all who was next to me. I will even say that I probably enjoyed it more alone. I didn't have to think or worry about my family, I could just sit back and enjoy it.

Alone you bet--read above. And it IS intense. In fact, I heard it's the only ride at WDW that has now installed air-sickness bags.

Thanks for all the input...I will put it on my "to do" list. I would really hate to visit the world and miss something like this since you all seem to love it. Sure hope I don't have to use the air sickness bag.

Yup! I've ridden it alone.

We have a young child, so dh & I swap.

It's a wonderful ride, don't miss it!::yes:: Besides, you can go in the "singles" line and ride much faster!!
