My husband is making me go to see MI today. Please God, let me fall asleep. I HATE these movies but he has free tickets!! I went to all three of the Lord of the Rings torture movies. I sat through most of a Star Wars too (left when the explosions and blasting got to be too much and went to Willy Wonka does that tell you how bad it was). I can tell you the plot w/out seeing it...shoot, shoot , shoot , explosion, shoot, run , shoot , break in , shoot, exploison, explosion, shoot, GIANT EXPLOSION...Tom is now safe and so is the world. I wonder if TOM will be jumping off any couches in this one...no wait that was on Oprah...same difference.

To add to the torture..last time I went to the movies I almost tripped over a small rat or a large mouse running between the seats. Luckily there was a railing behind the handicapped spot so I could put my feet up the whole time but I was afraid the mouse or rat was going to run up the side of my seat and get me!!! :confused3 Oh and I did tell management and they did not care even though I wrote a note to corporate.

If I am lucky maybe I can sneak into An American Haunting this time...I find ghosts much more enjoyable than pseudo intellectual actors who feel the need to chronical their lives while promoting a series of shoot em blow em up movies.

I'm sorry, I sincerely feel your pain, but your post is hilarious!! :lmao:

So, tell us how you really feel.........lol! Sorry you have to sit thru movies you hate.

I like action movies and feel tortured when I have to sit thru a "chick flick".

Yes but MOST "chick flicks" at least have fairly nice looking women you could look at to pass the time....action movies usually have Neanterthal men or guys who need to wear lifts in their shoes and toupees.

Okay so now I am home from this movie and let me say it was all I expected it to be and more...more broken glass.

For all of you who hate this type of movie let me tell you this one was particularly hateful!! They spent a good 25 minutes blowing up some building as well as shooting bulletts all over the place..so I think there must be nothing left. BUT NO what happens? Then Tom and whomever the girl was repel out of the building and then they blow it up some more! Then they are looking for some stupid thing called a rabbit's foot. They never even tell you what the heck it is. My legs were so sore from putting them up on the railing that when I got up I got a cramp. Really this movie made Lord of the Rings look good. It was fast cars, explosions, breaking glass (lot more of that in this one so at least this was different) and jumping around. All in all ....just the torture I would expect.

I'm not even going to TRY to sit through that freek show!

I am SO glad to see this movie is TANKING!!! :teeth: With any luck Tommy boy will dissapear altogether and not punish the American movie going public with any more of his movies. :teeth:

Sorry about having to go to a yick flick!

Tom Cruise offends me (acting and otherwise).

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes....

omg - i saw this movie last night too...sooo bad. horrible movie.

I didn't think MI3 was THAT bad. I like popcorn movies, and thought JJ Abrams did a good job directing this one. However Tom Cruise was somehow different. Upon reflection I think this one was probably the beginning of the end for the little guy.

PLEASE don't put any Tom Cruise movie in the same catagory as LOTR or Star Wars. That is too hateful. As any Lit. prof. will tell you LOTR is a classic hero epic in the same vien as Beouwolf, Gawain and the Green Knight etc.. No the movies didn't do it justice but they had really cool f/x:teeth:

Just FYI since your obviously not a liturature geek, LOTR actually has some intellectual validity, unlike chick flicks. princess:

I feel your pain, Bella. My kids just made me sit through Poseidon. Luckily, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

Well first let me say thet I LOVE LOTR and am having a difficult time grasping how someone could NOT love them. I actually went to see MI3 today because my MOTHER (age 63) is a HUGE Tom Cruise fan. I wasnt looking forward to it at all really, and was bored at the beginning (too much shooting w/o any explanation) but after the movie got going I kind of liked it. Heck, its a movie, I was entertained. :hippie:

Eh, it was alright, but near the end the pace did seem rather "hecktic" at times, but it did add to the man's desperation to save his wife. I actually enjoyed a bit of it, although I do think it was kind of cheesy that they don't even tell you what exactly they were looking for in the end... just something with a glass casing and a biohazard symbol.

:rotfl2: Torture movies..what a great name. I felt the same way about Star Wars, LOTR, Terminator and everything Sylvester Stallone ever made. :crazy2: Thankfully, we have a 19yo son who can go to the movies with DH--he knows better than to even ask me :rolleyes2 i slept through about 90 min of LOTR part 1, only woke up long enough to stop snoring and change position. :rolleyes1

I LOVE the LOTR and Star Wars movies. Psuedo-intellectual actors? Where?

But then I like all kinds of movies. Action movies like MI3 are like roller coaster rides, fun and usually mindless.

I prayed for sleep. The noise was so loud and I mean loud that there was no way to sleep.

As to the poster who defended LOTR I know there is a cult out there loyal to this series as there is a cult for Star Wars and Star Trek. One does not need to be a "literature geek" to appreciate that there are a variety of genres in literature and one man's meat is another man's poison. Just because college professors deems a written work literature does NOT necessarily make it so. I will agree that LOTR is entertaining but I for one CANNOT put it in a class with Dickens, Bronte, or Shakespere which are true literature not just a written work. Yes it is an epic..but God how long should it take to end an epic..LOTR III is still ending!

DS 16, who works at the movie theater, called when he got off last night at 5:30 and said he was staying to see MI3 with some friends.

Even he didn't like it. I thought this would normally appeal to teenage boys!!

:lmao:

It would appeal to teenage boys ONLY because I think one of the women rips off her top and you can see her bra. Also the teen age boys I saw were eating huge cups of chicken fingers that might make it more appealing too.
