Who: DH47
What: Epcot Living Seas - Aqua Tour
When: Tuesday, June 29, 12:30 - 3:00

DH47 was very happy with this tour. He likes scuba diving (even though he has only done it once), so this seemed like a good Father's Day present for him.

Unlike most tours, you do not have to have - or use up - a day's park admission to do this, since the entrance it outside of Epcot's main gates.

I do not have much detail to offer, since I didn't do the tour, but DH47 said it was the best present anyone had ever given him. It was instructive (learn about animals and the operations of the Living Seas) for about 2 hours, then 1/2 hour of float time with the marine life on the Living Seas.

He said you float around in a vest, using a combination of snorkel / scuba technology. You are connected to your air supply, so you don't have to deal with clearing your snorkel, but you are not submerged, so they don't require you to be scuba certified.

Tour included a picture of DH47 in gear, in the tank and an Aqua Tours tee-shirt.

Tour = $100 (20% discount if paid with Disney Visa)

As with all the tours, they charge your credit card the day of reservation. You have up to 48 hours prior to the tour to cancel, at which point you will get a credit refund. Just FYI for those who are managing their credit cards close to the vest.

Do again? I don't think I would pay to have DH47 repeat this tour, although I would definitely send on another family member who hasn't already done it. Highly recommend it.

Part of the "context" for putting this tour in perspective is that we had the opportunity to do Discovery Cove (without the Dolphin Encounter) later in the trip (that will be a different thread / report). We were guests of my friend who works at Sea World. My current thinking, subject to additional research and thought before our next trip, is that IF Discovery Cove (without the dolphins) cost around $130 (and included 7 additional, consecutive day's admission to Sea World) and this tour = $100 (ok, $80, with discount), I might have to consider DC over this tour......

Will let you know if / when I come to some conclusion.....

Great trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.
