Mission: Beta

After a long time of thinking i have decided to set up a program called Mission:Beta. What is Mission: Beta? for all of you who played during beta days you'll know that when you logged onto vmk you wouldn't have to worry about taken, bay be, duh duh, or mummy. My goal of mission:beta is to get the newest players possible to realize that all of this is pointless thus creating a new generation of vmkrs who don't do this stuff or inspire others to do it. How will we do this you ask? very simple actually.. i want to get as many vmk players as possible (especially CL_s) that don't do taken or any of the other things listed and walk around public areas and taking one or more guest or new player under their wing and show them that vmk is just as enjoyable without taken, etc. If you belong to the dis and are reading this than you can sign up right here.. if you are reading this and are not on the dis, our first Mission: Beta meeting will be thursday, june 22 at 5:30pm Eastern Time, and the program will launch on thursday as well (didn't want to do it friday since everyone wll be doing quests)

Cap, your heart is in the right place, but I don't think this could realistically work. There are too many people joining each day that this could become overwhelming. People are going to do what they want, especially if it is okay with vmk. Though, I suppose it couldn't hurt to try...could it?

I didnt even know this and today AbsolutleyAwesome and I helped a new player. We talked to her for about 20 minutes and we got her to ask her parents if she could do taken. Atleast ask her parents and she was afk for 10 minutes came back and she said her parents said she could.

We didnt stop it but we know that her parents know and tham makes me feel better about her beign safe.

A minute ago this boy asked a gir if she was taken in the plaza and I said "Gosh! Cant we just stop taken?!" and then I said "I hat taken!" and soon I found out that everyone but that boy in the plaza (hes not in the picture he got all mad and left) was against taken so they let me take these pictures:

Sign me up! What a great idea!!! We did something like this in our High School. This past year, us Sophomores acted as "Big Brothers/Sisters" to the incoming Freshmen. We helped them get used to the new school and the new system. I don't know how much it really helped, but it was a good effort.

I love your idea, and I think even though we will not be able to reach all of the new players, we will still be able to reach some,which is a huge step in the right direction for VMK.

This is a great idea even just to help new players. I can't sign up because I just don't have the spare time to help but I did want to offer a bit of advice about helping someone decide about taken. Telling a person to talk to their parents is probably the best advice you can give!

I offered this advice to someone who asked me if they should be taken. I said I don't like taken and that I don't see how it fits into VMK. The game is fun enough without having to worry about being taken. I asked her what her parents advised and she said she hadn't talked to them about it. I told her to talk to them to find out what they think about it. She then said that she wasn't allowed to be taken (date I assume) in real life so she probably shouldn't do it in the game. I told her I agreed with her logic and again told her to talk to her parents about it just to find out what they think about being taken in the game. I also knew she was a Christian due to a discussion we were having about Jesus (it was Easter weekend) so I suggested that she "talk to the King of Kings" to see what he thought she should do. She said she thought that was a good idea.

I don't know what the girl decided or if she asked her parents or God for guidance but I thought my experience might help you to help others decide if they want to be taken.
