:cool1: we're here!

Wow it's been a big couple of days. The surprise went according to plan much to my relief. The kids could not believe it, they thought it was a joke. It really took a while to sink in and then they screamed and danced and screamed and danced some more and said thank you a million times.

We then walked around in circles trying to get ready as we were all too excited to do anything. Thelir excitement was like we were finding out for the first time too. They all agreed that they were glad they found out on the day and not sooner. Theyve had two trips before with the lead up to plan and get excited but they said this was the best surprise ever.

V australia were great as always. we managed to score the one grumpy flight attendant on the whole plane but aside from that flight was good. It was definately better leaving australia at night time. The kids managed about 6 hours sleep.
We were picked up by limo which was a much more enjoyable ride than bus or shuttle.

Ok here's the funny part. I woke up an hour ago proud of myself for sleeping all night as the clock in the room said 7am. Now were all awake and weve realised it's only 3 am and we're all wide awake :scared1::scared1::scared1:

need to try and get back to sleep. Be back later

Thats great news that your plan went as you wished with telling the kids.....what a moment in their lives! Its funny 3am must be wake up time because aussietravellers is having trouble around that time as well! I am keeping all mine up tonight ready for the plane ride in 48hrs yahooooooooo.

How exciting Kyl , not long for you guys. I hope your sleep plan works because I thought we had nailed it this time with the nighttime flight and then by the time we got here last night, we unpacked and went to Mimi's for dinner and it was about 9 when we left there. We were all ready for bed by 10 and I thought how clever we were that our body clocks had adjusted so quickly :rotfl2:

I think it's going to be a looooong day today:)

Are you all packed?

Yaaaaay lovintheland :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I have been thinking about you since yesterday and wondering how the surprise went. I am soooooo glad to hear that it went so well. Thanks for popping in and telling us the story.

Have a wonderful time :hug:

thanks Aussiegirls :flower3:

will update more later. Off to try and get a couple of hours sleep but I'm not hopefull,

That is just so exciting - we didn't tell our daughter until as late as possible on our last trip, but couldn't wait until the day as we needed to let her teacher know she wouldn't be at school. She was super excited though.

I hope you all have a great trip! :cool1:

loveintheland - that's so great to hear that your surprise went down so well. I'm sure relief was the least of the emotions you were feeling .... and good for you for managing to keep the secret for this long.

And whilst I wish your body clock adjusts to the time zone, I too will selfishly be glad to see you awake so that you can post on the Dis for us to live vicariously. It's been fantastic having 3 of you check in (and setting the precedence for KYL and Ms Shuttergirl ;) to do the same.) :rotfl2:

Just remember to take a leaf out of aussietraveller's TR.....photos....and food porn.

Yay Lovintheland. That is wonderful news that your surprise plan went beautifully. I'm sure the kids were crazy and excited and a million other things.

I'm glad you had a good flight and hope your body clocks adjust quickly.

Princessinoz - Don't bet on it :rotfl2:.

Wow, I am so loving hearing from all of you guys who have arrived in the US this week! I'm so glad the surprise was well worth the wait! Hope the body clock settles down soon...something I'm getting a little concerned about now LOL.

Oh my goodness, I got shivers! That is so exciting that the surprise went so well!

Sorry you have the 3am issue :lmao: I can relate, but day two was 4am and then this morning 6am, so it's getting better.

Have a wonderful trip :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Loving reading about the surprise! I hate jetlag and lack of sleep too but looking forward to your early morning updates too! Have a great time.:goodvibes

Well my sleep plan has not gone as I would of liked. As you can see it is 7.30am and all but one of us is up rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. They stayed up until 11pm last night, so maybe I could get them to have an afternoon nap and then up late???? Here I was thinking I'll have it all worked out WRONG. Never mind I am sure tonight no one will get any sleep anyway due to the excitement of leaving tomorrow.

0h my goodness I'm so envious of all of you. I love hearing about your plans and the trips. I'm another one living vicariously through you. Have a great trip all of you and keep giving us all the details. :lmao:
