Has anyone ever missed school because of going on a trip to Disney?
I never have, but I'm supposed to be going with a friend of mine and that would mean that I'd have to miss a whole week of school..
Does anyone have any tips on how to keep up with the work and all the stuff I'll be missing??
I'm kind of second guessing going on this trip...
Plus it means I won't be exempt from anything.
I don't know... ha
Any tips, stories, or advice??

I have before. I'm totally willing to miss school for disney haha. I see it as, how often do I get a chance to go to disney? a few times a year for me, sometimes only once or twice. So I go, and work really hard to catch up and the memories you have from the trip will be worth the work. Just my opinion, but there will always be future trips too.

I think it depends what grade your in. I missed like 3 days of school for a vacation this year, and missed a test and 2 lessons in each of my classes and was really far behind. So I wouldnt miss anymore days this year. If it was grade 11, 10, 9, or lower, I wouldn't feel bad about missing more school, since it seemed like things were so rushed in those grades, and it was easier to catch up. I would just ask for the work ahead of time and do most of it before i left.

My mom tried to be a "good parent" when I was younger & only took my brother & I out of school early for Disney trips. One time though I did miss 3/4 of a day of school.
I think it all depends on what grade you're in and what kind of classes you have. I mean if you have pretty easy classes it will be ok, but I missed two days earlier this year when I was sick and had a crazy amount of work o make up in Honors & AP classes. I'm a junior BTW

I have missed before and I will miss 3 days in about a week.
I just ask my teachers what homework I will miss and they send it with me. I don't normally do it till the way home though. But that way I have it.

I asked my teachers if they had some of the work in advance and if they have it I do it in my spare time

Umm I don't think I've missed school for Disney but just ask your teachers for the work your going to miss.
If your in high school I wouldnt suggest missing an entire week for Disney because your going to have ALOT to catch up on!

I am going to be missing a week and a half of school this upcoming semester for DISNEY WORLD!!! what you should do is GET HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! when you get your homework before you leave you can work on your homework on the trip there and the trip coming back. if you do this you will probably be right on task when you get back!:cool1:

No I haven't missed school particularly for WDW. I have missed long periods because of illnesses though. Just ask your teacher for the work and try to get as much of it done before the trip and then make it priority right as you get back.

Every trip i've been on, i've missed up to 2 weeks of school on every trip. I actually never asked for homework or anything  but I just catch up since I usually do.

I have in the pass when we went to disneyland and I just did my HW on the airplane but i couldnt finish it all my teacher gave me a huge pile and what wasnt fair my brother got no HW lol

Yes, I have missed school to go to Disney. My advice is to let your teachers know in advance and ask them for any of the homework/work that you will be missing. You can do the work while going and coming home from disney and at night if your not too tired.

Good Luck and Have fun!

Yes. I have. It's next to impossible for my parents to go in the summer as that's when everyone in my mum's work wants their vaca.
I've missed like.. 12 days the first year, and then like 13-ish the next year.
We take long vacations (like around 3 weeks long) and it's hard to not miss school when they're that long. There were a few days that I didn't miss because of holidays/teacher development days.

Honestly, it's not a big deal. Unless you're a senior, but it still shouldn't be a big deal unless you're struggling in school. In middle school, it's really not a big deal. I did some of the work before, and anything I had left when I got back only took a couple of days to finish. Heck, I wrote an entire story in book form (with pictures) in three hours and still got an A.
Same goes for HS. My brother was in grade 10 and 11 when we went, and he seemed to catch up pretty easily (well, junior year he had a little bit of a problem, but not too much).

And I don't work when I'm in Disney. I refuse to do any of it. That story I was supposed to have done the day I got back. Peh, yeah right, I'm not working on that when I'm trying to relax.
To me, being relaxed and creating memories is worth more than school. I have fun, come back and get caught up.

Naw,
Unless when my grampie died.
Then I guess so, but i was only in PRE-K so..uhm...that doesnt really count...

:teacher: I have missed school plenty of days because of disney trips. I know you have to make up for all of that work but its worth it!!!! I go to disney a lot. I stay at the fort wilderness campground at disney. But its totaly worth it to miss school.:teacher:

I've missed school for Disney before..only on trips right before the school year starts; I'll miss a day or two.
But the first days aren't that big...

ive only missed one day because of disney but it was the last day before christmas break and i was in elementary school so all we had were partys that day

ive totally missed school for disney a bunch of times..
the 1st time i did it was in 8th grade and it actually affected what high school i would end up going to cuz my school was really ******** and they were mad that i wasnt gonna show up for a whole week which means less money for them..
but they got their wish cuz i go 2 a crappy private school now but its ok cuz i went to DISNEY WORLD!!! lmao
oh and i still miss school for disney..at least twice a year.

I have before.
But if you're low with your grades it might be wise to pick up the missing lessons and paperwork.
