Did anyone see the MSNBC program last night about the missing honeymooner man from RCCL? Remember this thread from a few weeks ago? I missed the program and wondered what the new thoughts on the disappearance were.

If this was the same one on last week, they have interviewed several people including one couple next door who heard 2 loud men's voices in the middle of the night. They heard thumps against the wall and then thought that they heard a sofa being dragged out to the balcony & thrown overboard. There is still no word on what happened though.

The man that's missing is from my hometown of Greenwich, CT. It's a very sad tale, but at the same time the whole situation seems a bit fishy (no pun intended).

has the wife made any statements????

None - can believe it? And alot of us in town are having a problem with that. I mean it just seems odd. She's been home since a day or 2 after they said they couldn't find him. If it were me, I'd be like Natalee Holloway's mom - I'd stay for a while (at least) until some type of evidence was more concrete. And the family that snapped the pic of the bloody outline which seems like a body, has not yet been interviewed by the FBI.

The families tried to keep this story quiet, but it seems like in the last few weeks it's starting ot get some national attention which I think is a good thing.

IMHO I think the wife may know more than she is saying . . .which apparently is nothing . . .

Personally, I think the wife had him "bumped" off

There's been some speculation about that - perhaps for some insurance $. He was supposed to take over his father's buisness when his dad retired which is a local liquor store biz.

Our town never has anything going on, so this is HUGE news as you all can imagine. Just very sad for the family.

:sad2: Very sad story!! I cannot believe this would happen, let alone of your honeymoon for pete's sake!! What bride and groom are not inseperatable on their honeymoon??

From some news reports, she was passed out drunk in another part of the ship and never returned to the cabin. Of course, all this is hear say, and who can judge or know the truth??? You can bet your bippy, I for one, would be on top of things wanting to know how my new DH died!? I can only imagine how devastated his family must be.

The most recent report on the Royal Caribbean boards said they were investigating the possibility that the wife had been slipped a "date rape" drug in her drink. :confused3 Don't know if it's true but it could certainly explain some of the strange circumstances surrounding this.

Didn't see the MSNBC coverage, but several other news organizations have tied this story to the Aruba story.
Big difference between the families in these incidents, one seeking media attention, the other shunning it.
Sadly, the bottom line in both is likely the same.....we will probably never know what happened and they will never be found.

Do they still have the Ferry that takes you out to Island Beach?

WOW!!! They sure do!

Are you orig from Greenwich?

from what I understand, she was passed out somewhere and he was pissed thinking she was with another guy. he smashed up his room, broke something that was glass, and cut himself. that is where they believe the blood came from. they also think he was really drunk and probably stumbled and fell overboard. I hate to say it, but RC has a bad history of covering up mishaps like this. They want all passengers involved off the boat, and they then wash their hands of the whole incident. Espescially because it happened in Greece, they are an American ship and do not want problems. Once all parties are off the boat, they no longer have to worry about liability.

Our friends were just on a 5 night Carnival cruise where a 23 year old girl was so despondant over her boyfriend breaking up with her that she jumped overboard. They found some blood and our friends are not sure exactly what happened to her, they claim they found her after 10 hours but wouldn't say how she was.

My first cruise was in 1980 on Paquet's Mermoz. A small (less than 500 passengers) French ship.
Staff told us then, that on average they have one passenger or staff member commit suicide a year by jumping off the ship.

i have a pregnant girlfriend who was just on a RC cruise with her DH when he had a heart attack. they had to airlift him off the ship to a remote foriegn island. they promised her they would take care of everything (contacting her family, making hotel arrangements for her while her husband recovered, etc.). well, needless to say, they did nothing for her once they were off the boat. she was stuck with one bag of toiletries, and her cell phone and a sick DH. she could'nt believe it considering they had cruised on RC 2x before. treated them very poorly.

Aren't they now thinking both H & W were slipped a "mickey" but the H woke up mid robbery by the druggers? I'm glad we're cruising on Disney....

One big difference between the Holloway case and this is that this occured on private property and in international waters. The wife can't exactly refuse to leave the ship. They would carry her off. The people that were probably involved in this could be anywhere in the world, while the Holloway suspects are all on one island.

There really isn't a law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction in international waters(maybe interpol, but I don't think so). The FBI is investigating only because it was an American that "disapeared." If it was someone from France or the UK they wouldn't bother. Royal Carribean is actually in charge of what happens on their ships. (Just like Disney is incharge of what happens on theirs) Instead of trying to find out if something happened they cleaned up the blood and the room. (There has been some speculation that members of the crew were involved) When some passengers went to RC during the cruise and said they thought they might know something, they were told by RC that they didn't know anything and nothing was wrong.

As far as the wife not talking to the media, she doesn't have to. She may not even know what happened. How would you like to loose your husband or wife and then have to go on TV and say that while your spouse was "murdered" in a cabin that you shared and should have been in, you were somewhere else, either drunk or drugged? I'm sure she's feeling a lot of guilt because of that in addition to greaving for her husband and the life that she was supposed to have been starting with him. What can she do anyways? There is very little hope that a body will be found and the FBI doesn't seem to really want to investigate this. Because the cabin was cleaned up there is very little evidence left if any. The only way they are going to proove that anyone comitted this crime is if someone involved admits it.
