Missed reservation Question

We are leaving soon for WDW. I have a 3 yr old DS and am a little nervous about making all my reservations. Do they penalize you if you miss reservations? I plan on making all of them, but anyone with kids knows plans sometimes go to poop quick. I just don't want to worry about this.

No penalties except for restaurants that took your credit card to hold your reservation, and then those vary I think depending on the restaurant (there aren't many).

However, if you're not going to go, the nice thing to do is to call 407-WDW-DINE as soon as you know and cancel so another family might get your table.

Not including the reservations that require a credit card hold, I have never had a problem. If something does come up at the last minute, I do try to call the Disney dining number from my cell phone and let them know I will not be able to make the reservation...that way a standby family may get in much sooner. That being said, I have never had to cancel or no show more than 1 or MAYBE 2 reservations on a trip...I'm not sure if Dsiney has a procedure in place if you don't show up for a 3rd or 4th ressie. Like you, we also travel with two little ones and things always seem to come up...this trip DS6 and DS2. We take advantage of TS meals as a time to slow down the pace, cool off, talk about the fun things we have done so far, plan what we want to do next, and relax over a nice meal.

We were a total no-show for a reservation last September. It was at Biergarten and we were caught up in MK with a dead cell phone battery. I felt bad because ideally I would have liked to call and cancel so someone else could get in, but it wasn't possible. Regardless, since it isn't a restaurant that required a credit card reservation, there was no penalty.

Only if a credit card hold has been put on your reservation (Akershus, California Grill, special packages like Fantasmic dining package or Candlelight Processional)

CRT and the dinner shows require payment in full at booking which will be refunded if you cancel - but there is a cancellation deadline. If you are on the dining plan, you would have been required to leave a credit card hold for these, also.

Just as an aside, food & wine special events are paid in full at booking and are nonrefundable.

You don't need to call to cancel an ADR - you could cancel them at Guest Services in the parks.

how soon is soon? if you haven't already booked your adr's you may not have to worry about missing a reservation there may not be any available

Thanks all I will be sure to carry the wdw dine number and my ADR #'s with me. Hopefully we will be able to make them all and heve no issues but atr least i know to call if we won't make it. Do most people call the week before to confirn all your ADRs?

You have to remember that an ADR is only a "place in line" it doesn't mean when you show up you have a table waiting for you. It means when you arrive for your time slot you then get the next table for your partys size. So if you don't show it isn't such a big deal. The only way you get penalized is if you had a credit card put on file to hold the reservation then you get charged the amount of the dinner. Have a great time!

You can also cancel any ADR at the nearest restaurant. Sometimes that is easier than trying to get to Guest Relations. or if your battery is dead.
