i miss this ride soooooooo much, and kitchen kabaret too. why must they do away with such good things??? and now this talk of wonders of life??? what next

:guilty:

i wouldnt mind so much if they did a better job replacing them , it seems like they are avoiding all things animatronic. like food rocks, cardboad ?? come on...

anyway just thought i would do a rememberence thread

( way too many departed to list them all)

If you could get them to bring back one ride, what would it be????

I would probably reincarnate horizons.....i loved the orange groves

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was my DS18 favorite ride. He was so sad to see it gone. He rode it in 1993 for the first time and got off and right back on so many times I lost count. Dad didn't go on this visit so he told him all about it. The next time we went to MK it was gone and DS18 complaines every trip that it is gone.

I'm with you. I loved Horizon's even if it was getting a bit long in the tooth when WDW shut it down. I've always though that the ability to have navigator, pilot, etc. on Mission Space was kind of a tip of the hat to Horizon's "push the button to decide which way you want to return to Earth-undersea, desert, or space". There are so many Horizon's tribute websites with scripts and pics, it's almost like reliving it from home.

im not really sure because i haven't really rid on any of the rides which are now extinct the only thing i watched was food rocks and didn't even like it
anyway there is still a car from the mr toads wild ride is in the Town Square Exposition Hall on Main Street U.S.A

We did Mr. Toad in DL this past June. Nice ride especially since can't do it at the World.

My top ride that I miss is Horizons. Very sad it had to go.

I always had to go on it twice, once on each side :wizard: ::yes:: :wave2:

I miss Toad too - Others I miss alot are the original Tiki Room & Cranium Command.

So many things. I miss kitchen caboret. As a child it was one of my favorite things and we always HAD to go. OOO the dairy products, how I miss the dairy products. How could they take away the singing ice cream?!!? O the horror of it! ....sigh! :faint:

I also miss Horizons when it would smell like oranges...how great was that. Disney needs to find a way to incorporate all of our senses in rides. I think it adds to it soooo much!

I knew there was something that used to smell like oranges! I am so glad you said that. We were there our last trip and were on Spaceship Earth and I was telling my DH I thought something was supposed to smell like oranges in there. He had no idea what I was talking about (which of course, wrong ride) but I knew I wasn't imagining it! Thanks!

Also, DH really misses Mr. Toad and pouted all the way through Pooh and he won't stop fussing about it being gone.

I miss Mr. Toad too. I remember the first time I rode it I was so scared, but when we came back the next year I loved it.

SandrainNC I think you can smell the smoke of the hunter/gatherer society in spaceship earth (or at least you used to be able to, I know they've done modifications since the original). They put nasal stimulations in original future world attractions, but then never put them anywhere else and I really do wonder why. Clearly those are things we remember, since memory and scent are linked!

Not to be too picky but actually, it's the rubble after the fall of Rome that smells like smoke.

It's not a ride that I miss most but Tapestry of Dreams. Sigh, I could listen to that music all day long.

I miss Mr. Toad also! I like the Winnie the Pooh ride, but it's just not the same. I was so excited when I was in DL a few years ago, I waited on line for a long time to get on Mr. Toad! I'ts cute in Winnie the Pooh when you see Mr. Toad handing over the "deed"!

Actually, I feel like they have been doing this quite a bit lately--at least with the sense of smell! Spaceship Earth, It's Tough To Be a Bug, Mickey's Philharmagic, Stitch, and Journey Into Imagination all incorporate smells into the attractions.

I think they need to do more GOOD smells though LOL. Stich and Journey are stinky! :crazy2:
