Mischievious Elf

Does anyway have a 'mischievious elf' that comes to visit them during the holidays? I heard about this a while back and can't find a lot of information on it. Basically there is an elf (stuffed) that comes to visit you to make sure the kids are behaving and report back to santa. But while he/she is there he gets into trouble around the house, or has fun at night while the kids are sleeping.

I found the perfect elf and have found some ideas at www.elf-magic.com, but I'm not sure how to start. The website here you can actually purchase the elf and they send you it with a name and story etc. I like the elf I found better, so want to impliment with that.

So, looking for new ideas to start a new tradition. Hopefully my kids aren't too old to have fun with it.

We have an elf. Finding him every morning is one of the highlights of December! Remember, he loses his magic, if you touch him!

How did you introduce your elf, or how did he come to find your home.

What kind of fun has your elf had?

I've got the story, and can type it out for you if you like. Can't do it until this afternoon, however. Tells all about Christopher the elf wanting to be with children, and Santa allowing it!

That's so cute!

DH is actually a personal friend of Santa's, and Santa calls DH at work occasionally to ask how our boys are doing, and if they're behaving. DS6 isn't quite sure whether he believes Daddy, but he's not taking any chances! DS2 is still oblivious, of course.

As you can imagine, DH is quite the storyteller, so he can make it sound believable, it's really funny to listen to. I just have to play along.
