Mirror room configurations

I just noticed on a website a photo tour that showed an OKW 1 bdrm flipped opposite of what I usually see everywhere else with the kitchen on the right as you enter the room from the front door. I have to say it felt "better" to me seeing it like that on the left for some reason. I never have seen that orientation before and honestly, never really thought about it.

So that brought up a question of a silly new room request to add to the list

I want the kitchen to be on my left as I enter the room

Does anyone else have an orientation preference when it comes to rooms?

We defnitely have (had?) a preference - and it was based on the fact that the first room we stayed in was an odd number room and oriented - - I think the kitchen was to the left...

For about 3 trips we kept getting the same orientation - then suddenly - WHAM - backwards!!! That took some getting used to. Thinking about it now - I still say I prefer kitchen on the left.

I can safely say I've had it both ways and the room works exactly the same way no matter which way it faces! That's all that matters to me!

SOLUTION: This used to be a major issue for us as well. Move up to a 2BR. The kitchen's always in the middle now!

In OKW 1BR villas, the left-handed kitchens are found in the villas on the right side of the building as you enter ( ... or on the left side if you look from the balcony ). The room numbers will end in XX11 or XX21.

We've stayed in both styles and it sometimes does take a few moments to get oriented if you are mentally expecting the opposite configuration.

I'll have to check whether the roation is clockwise or otherwise though!

Only been on 2 DVC trips and always had kitchens to the left at BCV. DW's only preference is that she only use the kitchen for coffee and cocktails. On vacation, all cooking must be done by CM's.

Our first several stays were left oriented too, and that first time we got a right side oriented room, the kitchen didn't bother me, but the bedroo on the wrong side did! Now I find it easier to remember which trip is which by the orientation of the room and who was with us. I also find I imagine I will be in one or the other, and it always seems to work out that we get the one I imagined! Guess I'm psychic!
