Miracle

I watched the movie "Miracle" tonight! What a great story. I sort of remember when it actually happened even though I was only 9 years old. Did anyone else see it? How about some opinions?

We rented it tonight, too. It brought back a lot of memories for me, too. I was 14 then.

We had to explain the type of place Russia was in 1980 to our DS since his recollections are only of a post-Perestroika Russia. It hit home for him when we explained that we'd never have gotten to adopt him and his sister if it was still a Communist state.

That made it even better for him, knowing that the US won the game against the soviets.

It was really a movie that flew by. We never realized how long it was until it was over.

I saw it twice in the movie theatre and will be buying the DVD. I'm a big hockey fan anyway...but this is so much more than a hockey story, isn't it?? A great movie.

ESPN Classic had a special where they profiled Jim Craig, replayed the actual game with commentary/inerviews with the players , and then a special on the the making of the movie. That was really good too

Ah Jim Craig one season in the NHL then not much after that similar to alot of the guys that played for the US team in 80 hehe. It was a great movie I like the dedication to Herb Brooks at the end of it. I will not own it but it was a good rent. It was funny to see my idol Ken Dryden doing colour commentary though.

Jim Craig actually played here in Erie after the Olympics. He had a terrible attitude when he was here and no one really cared for him. But after reading about his story, I guess now I can understand. It was a big slap in the face for him to be here, I guess.

I love the movie, it brings back so many memories of watching the real thing. We bought the movie and as a bonus got the "real thing" with it. Pretty cool!
