younger dd's camp went to Baltimore, with a stopover in Philadelphia on the way back to New York. they were due back at the camp 8:00 last night.
at 7:30 I wisely called the camp, and was told that the buses ran into traffic and would be delayed about an hour.
since the camp is a 15 minute drive away, I left the house at 8:45 -- about the time I originally expected dd to be back home. got to camp at 9, and found out that it would be another 45 minutes until they arrived. it was pointless to go back to my house (15 minute drive each way), so I went to the Dunkin' donuts down the street from the camp and had a cup of coffee.
so by the time the buses actually arrived and everyone met up with their kids, it was after 10. it was 10:30 when I finally got home. dd was exhausted. in fact, she was so tired she couldn't get up for camp today.
but she can't wait for the next trip, she had so much fun.
