Don't leave me a 7 second voice mail at work that simply says, "Can you give me a call back?"

Give me some general idea as to what you're looking for me to do so I know how long I should plan on setting aside for the callback, please.

My brother calls and leaves the same message every time. The thing is, he always wants a ride somewhere so why doesn’t he just say that? I find myself waiting till the next day to call because I don’t want to sound irritated. There’s a lot of baggage there.

I remember when my company went to alpha numeric pagers (for you young folk, pagers were small devices you wore on your hip that would buzz and display a number for you to call back. Before the display, when a pager went off, you'd just have to call whatever agreed upon number). We thought this was great, we could actually get MESSAGES (ie: "go to 123 main street, meet Mary" or "your deadline has been changed, it's now 430"). The person who was responsible for sending the messages simply put "Call Mike".

Email me or call me. Don't email me and then call me 30 seconds later and ask, "Did you see my email?" It's especially irritating when that person is in the same office, literally about 10 steps from where I sit.

Sometimes I’ll get a voice mail telling me they’ll send me an email as a follow up. Great, I’ll just wait for that email. Make my life easier.
