Here in the world and went last night to Minnie's Holiday Dine...
Can I just say AMAZING?!?
The buffet was excellent... Fresh and yummy. Beautifully presented (for a buffet), so many excellent choices! (DH and DGS absolutely loved the asiago chicken.). And the DESSERTS were so adorable, itty bitty bites of Christmas goodies. Each a mini work of art!
But the piece de resistance were the characters themselves! Minnie, (her party, decked out in sparkly red dress and loads of bling), Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy were the best character interactions ever! Goofy greated everyone at the door, and the rest of the gang spent a lot of time at everyone's table. I can't even begin to describe how great they were! Charming to adults and children alike! The BEST!
Go if you are able, you won't regret it! Pinky swear!

We felt we were ripped off. Characters were cute but the food was terrible. So overpriced for the quality. Long lines at the buffet. Poor service from server. We really regret going. I had made the reservation based on reviews that I now feel were misleading. Just s caution to others.

sadly have to agree with the above review...it stunk for us. The characters were great, but the food was so bad that we ordered a dominos pizza from the restaurant to have it delivered to our room by the time we got back.

Mind you, we are vegetarian, so the chef wasn't very accommodating to us, so that plays a BIG role in our experience.

I can't comment on how the food is for Minnie's Holiday Dine; but if it is true to form as it is with just about every other dinner buffet other than Boma, it is very "Golden Coral" in quality. In other words, not very good; Just my opinion of Disney and their buffets... But then I really feel that way with most buffets anywhere. I'm more about the quality than I am the quantity.

Good to hear! We are going Weds night and I'm really excited about it. Reviews have been mixed so it's good to hear something recent and positive.

We have an ADR in Jan 2. I am not expecting much in regards to the food, hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised. I made the ADR because it is our first night and they had a F! ADR, and we want to see Osborne Lights.

When did you go?

Even one of our CMs at GF said she's heard wonderful things about Minnie's party...
I'm hear to tell you, I almost bailed to go to Osbourne lights dessert party... So glad we didn't. Lights were no where near as crowded as expected, dessert spot was OK, and I felt we got so much more bang for our buck!

Definitely not "Golden Corral"!
Good looking salads, pumpkin squash soup, Turkey (carving the bird, not the compressed breast of turkey you see everywhere), sirloin, ham, asiago chicken, shrimp Mac& cheese, and those adorable desserts. Lots of sides as well.
Maybe now that it's changed to Minnie's Hollywood Dine, there's a new chef and staff?
We also ate at Cape May breakfast/brunch. Definitely NOT " Golden Corral "... Fresh made crepes with choices like sweetened mascarpone, fresh fruit, nutella, etc, as well as made to order omelets with fresh veggies from Disney's own gardens.
We have eaten many wonderful meals at WDW... Most are really high quality with very fresh ingredients.
Just our experience...

Have to agree with this --- we went thanksgiving night-- liked it, and the character interaction was fine, but didn't feel it was worth it for the price. Our believe our bill ( 2 adults, 2 children) was $212 --- our kids are 9 and 4. They are not picky eaters at all, and will try just about anything, but how much can kids possibly eat? Glad we did it, but probably wouldn't go back.

Encouraging to hear your report on the buffet at Minnie's Hollywood Dine; As I said, I have not dined there and have been rather hesitant when it comes to Disney buffets, especially lunch/dinner. Now IMO as far as Cape May Breakfast... It is very much Golden Corral in quality... But again, that is only my opinion and coming from a for the most part buffet disliker (if that is a word, LOL). I will agree with you about some wonderful meals at WDW that are of high quality. I also have had many wonderful meals as well and love many of the restaurants at Disney, just not many that are a buffet.

Not a fan of buffets myself usually! Lol! But for characters it seems the only way to go, that's why I was so surprised by Minnie's Dine.
Maybe I need to try a Golden Corral! Maybe I'll like the food! Lol... I did enjoy my Cape May breakfast... But I eat a lot of fruit and yogurt so it's hard to mess that up!
