Minnie's breakfast vs. Storytellers

I've been planning on doing Minnie's at Plaza Inn, but I'm considering storytellers instead. I've always wanted to try Minnie's, but if I do Storytellers I could do it on a non park morning, which might be better. On the other hand, maybe by 10:30 we'd be ready for a nice break at Minnie's.

Which breakfast do people prefer, and why? Is the food just as good at both places?

Thanks!

I think it really depends if you are wanting to a park or non park day. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Minnie’s! I have it on my list for researching Storytellers. I haven’t heard anything bad per se but I have read mixed feelings about it — only if it is ‘worth it’ With that said everything has a Disney tax on it so I kinda shrug at that saying

Oh I wanted to add I’ve heard Storytellers has more diverse/better food(which is why I think it might be more) and you are going to see the core characters. One thing about Plaza Inn is heard you can get some more unique characters like fairy godmother Cinderella’s mice, captain hook & Rafik.

I think storytellers for a non park day(or even park day!) would be awesome. I know you didn’t ask about it but the only one I’m not going to do this time is Goofy’s Kitchen breakfast. It was a long time ago but I just wasn’t really impressed with the food. But the interactions were great and that is what you are paying for.

I am doing Storytellers this trip because I did Minnie's last trip.
I LOVED the Minnie Breakfast! The food was very good, we had Minnie, Chip & Dale, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy, Pooh and Tigger.
Character interaction was fantastic.

We are going to try to do storytellers since its the only one with mickey and I think my son might be upset if he doesn't see him, but I am not 100% convinced on doing that one yet lol

We loved Storytellers. The food was delicious, and we loved the characters. We did it on a departure day which was a nice ending to our DL trip.

We have never done Minnie’s breakfast. Since we visit DL infrequently and are not annual pass holders, we didn't want to waste valuable park mornings to do attractions when crowds are low.

I've done both, and I agree with the previous posters.

They are both great experiences. For pure character experiences, I think I have to give the very slight nod to Minnie's in terms of consistency, and the chance to see some uncommon characters. For food quality and restaurant quality in general, I have to give it to Storytellers.

Note that previously Storyteller's had even more unusual characters, but they have changed it to what they have now.

Note to see Mickey Mouse, in toon town there is an character greet there, where the queue is quite fun too and do try to go there as soon as toon town opens.

I feel like I'm the only person who really doesn't like Storytellers. I tried it again this past December after not loving it pre-Covid and it was still just meh. The food was mediocre even by buffet standards and we didn't get very many characters. Even the kids didn't like it.

Minnie's is a very different story for us. We go every single trip for breakfast. We haven't missed it for about a decades worth of trips. The waffles with banana caramel sauce is incredible and there are so many characters.

One of these days we'll make it to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast. It's my daughter's favorite for dinner so we never get to go for breakfast.

I'm gonna side with kikismom and say I (now) prefer Minnie's. Did Minnies in December and Storytellers 2 weekends ago. Minnie's just had a more fun "vibe" - my 7 year old could have as many chicken strips as he wanted (you have to order them at Storytellers and they only bring you 2) and as silly as it sounds the Mickey, I mean Minnie waffles were a-plenty and more easily accessible. At Storytellers you need to wait in the main line to get any type of refill or extra, while at Minnie's there is more delineation between stations. Character interaction was great at both but again Minnie's just felt more fun.You also get a photo pass pic of Minnie so if she is a priority then again one more tick for Minnie. Pre-Covid I preferred Storytellers because of the a la carte menu, which is no longer there. I honestly was not impressed with the buffet for the price.

Also, we have a tree nut allergy in the fam and all need to avoid them because of cross contamination so all the salads at Storytellers had nuts in it, which made it far less appealing. I did get a bowl of arugula and was able to add tomatoes and onions from the omelette bar, but that again just made it meh.

For a non park day I actually would do Goofy's - we haven't been since Dec 21 but it was actually our fave character meal at the time because of the food diversity. My kids ate their weight in soft serve...

We like the food at Storytellers but have had better character interaction at Minnie's. When we do Minnies, we do a late breakfast/brunch time so we still take advantage of the low morning crowds. We usually do Storytellers on our final morning before heading home. I don't think you can go wrong with either; it just depends on your other plans and what you are wanting to get out of it.

It may be an unpopular opinion but we really don't like Goofy's, It was my favorite as a kid but we really don't like the food there. When we went last summer we ended up picking at the meal and grabbing another meal later.
