Monday, Nov. 4th, Day 3: CRT Breakfast, MK, OKW
I again happily awake b/4 the alarm anticipating our Princess breakfast!!! I was lucky enough to get this on my second day of trying by following all the great tips on these boards. Now, I'm just hoping it lives up to all the hype!
Our ps time is for 8:25 and we make it over to MK by 8:00 am. Now we had a rental car and at OKW you can park it right in front of your villa which is a real time saver on transportation. We also got front row parking today since we were one of the first cars in the lot! Very cool - row 1, Minnie Lot! Anyway it took us a total of a half hour to make it from our villa to the MK entrance, not bad considering they only had the "resort monorail" line running when we arrived at TTC and we had to wait a little for it plus make stops at Poly and GF.
Walking into MK at 8:00 in the morning with the streets still a little wet from their morning cleaning and hardly a soul in sight was just another added benefit to an early breakfast ps. We took our time strolling down Main St. and taking tons of pictures and video. It was a beautiful sunny morning too. AAaah - a very magical stroll.
We arrived at Cindy's at 8:20 and they ushered us right upstairs. When the hostess took us to our table I almost fainted - a table OVERLOOKING FANTASYLAND!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!
DD was pointing and naming the princesses she saw. We had Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Mary Poppins & Prince Charming. Alexis our waiter came over to introduce the breakfast and to bring out the first servings: large fruit cocktail, assortment of pastries, a bowl of yogurt and granola. He was a very good server and stayed in character the whole time calling us "my lady, my lord, & my princess." You have two options for breakfast here a healthy and a traditional breakfast plate that is pre-plated, but all you can eat. I had the healthy (granola, fruit, & yogurt) DH had the traditional (bacon, eggs, sausage, pastry). DD mostly ate the fruit and a few bites of her french toast sticks - DH & I happily ate the rest of them for her!
Anyway we liked the food and Alexis always kept our juice, milk and coffee beverages full.
Now the best part - The Princesses! I thought all the characters were very sweet and they were a good resemblance to who they were supposed to be. Our Cinderella and Snow White were really awesome! DD even though she was pointing out the princesses and naming them from afar, she became more shy when Snow White, our first princess visited. But Snow was oh so sweet to her and got down to her level and talked in a real low tone. DD warmed up and gave her a precious smile! And then Snow gave DD a huge kiss on the forehead!!!!!!
It left a big bright red lip mark right in the middle of her forehead!!!!!!!! It was soooooooooo cute!!! DH and I were rolling with laughter as DD had no idea the kiss left its "mark!" Thank goodness we captured it on videotape too! Anyway Cinderella came by soon after and made a fuss over DD about the kiss and said she just had to leave one too! So DD got a Cinderella kiss on her right cheek that left pink lip marks!! You can guess what happend when Belle came by too! Yep, another kiss for DD, this time on the left cheek. Belle left brownish-red lip marks.
So very cool! Mary Poppins came over and was sad there was no more room on DD's face to leave a mark. Prince Charming said he was jealous of all the princess kisses, he's hoping for some too!
DD got extra attention from several of the waiters and waitresses and of course ours, Alexis. We had such a wonderful experience here - for us it was sooooo worth the hassle of the phone call and the high $ bill.
We left CRT about 9:10 and hardly anyone had made it into Fantasyland as the gates had just opened at 9:00. So we walked onto Winnie-the-Pooh, followed by Dumbo and the carousel. This was yet another big benefit of coming to an early ps! DH was thanking me for such a great morning already and it wasn't even 10:00 am yet!!!!
So since it was almost 10:00 we walked over to Toontown for rope drop. They don't do anything special for it, but it's nice to be one of the first in. We went right to Minnie's house. DD loved playing with all of Minnie's stuff. We stayed here for quite a bit as Tatiana did not want to leave and besides she was having FUN! Then we went over to check Mickey's house out. Mickey's is cute but not as fun since you can't really touch anything. We walked out of his house and into the Judge's Tent and we couldn't believe there was NO ONE in line to see Mickey!!!! We were usered right into Mickey's studio for our personal greeting! WOW! This day is so awesome! The kind photographer took three pictures with our camera plus hers. However, we left w/o previewing the shot, we just totally forgot about it, I was a little bummed about that.
After our Mickey moments we parked ourselves at the Toontown playground for DD to run around. She loved it!! We stayed here a LONG time, she was just enjoying herself so much! Plus this also gave mommy and daddy time to sit and talk and relax too.
Oh yeah, I fogot to mention right before we went to Toontown we picked up Fastpasses for Buzz as the line was over 45 min. long. So after we had played at Toontown playground we headed to Tomorrowland for our Buzz ride. Fastpass is so awesome on these occassions, we went right up to the front cue and had very minimal wait. Buzz is a cool ride, this was our first time on it, somehow we missed it last year. Now our scores were pathatic, but it was no less fun! Tatiana wasn't too keen on this ride. We've kind of noticed a pattern with her now, she LOVES the rides that are open or outside like Dumbo, the Carousel, Indy cars, Train, but is not to sure about the inside rides.
After Buzz we decided to cross the park and do Alladin's Magic Carpets as Dumbo was such a hit with Tatiana. Sure enough as soon as she saw the carpets go up, she wanted to go on! She called it "Dumbo" too.
After the carpets we boarded the train in Fronteirland to take back to Main St. and "home" to OKW for the afternoon.
I just have to tell you OKW is sooooooooo nice and peaceful to come home too. I wish I could live there or at least stay an extra long time! Our villa home was very spacious and cozy. From the porch you faced an abundance of Florida vegetation and trees. I loved sitting out on the porch drinking my iced tea and taking in the beauty and thinking about everybody at home in their coats!
(he,he) Eventually I went in for a nap too!
When we got up from our naps feeling so refreshed the first thing out of Tatiana's mouth was "swimming!" So off we went to the pool. Our villa was just a very short stroll away from the pool/playground/spa. Have I mentioned the outside spa yet?? That thing is wonderful!!!!! No wonder I came back so relaxed from all my spa and porch time!
Well, originally I had plans for us to go to Epcot tonight and have dinner at San Angel Inn but I'm learning that with a 2 year old, flexibility is key!!!! She was having such an awesome time swimming in the pool with us and was asking to stay we just couldn't ruin her good time. I was hoping for such great family time and was getting it. So we decided instead just to do a quick meal over at the Pizzeriza Uno at Crossroads and then go back for more swimming. This was another real benefit of OKW, we were close to lots of off-site restaurants and the rental car paid for itself by allowing us to make these off-site trips for meals and groceries. We swam after dinner till about 9:00 when DD finally told us she wanted to go play with her toys in the "hotel home."
As another added bonus to all the stimulation and swimming, DD actually asked to go to sleep!!!!!! Something she NEVER does at home. We had the easiest time we have ever had putting her to sleep for the night here at OKW!!!!!
Tomorrow: MGM, Brown Derby, & Mickey's Mall
