Not only that. Just as important, you will PAY on the Lyft app I'm sure.Yes, they are using the Lyft app as the only method to request the service
Why wouldn't they be? This is a new added service, not a replacement
The roads are public, owned by Reedy Creek Improvement District. RCID is a quasi-governmental agency created by the FL legislature at Walt's request, so that he could be exempt from local zoning and building codes. I believe RCID's commissioners are all Disney management, because nobody else is a legal resident of the district, so it is completely controlled by Disney. That's why they deannexed the property for Golden Oaks, to avoid the homeowners being residents of RCID.Well, to the best of my knowledge....and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong....the entire WDW property, which includes their road/highway system is private property. With that, Disney would have every right to ban Uber/Lyft from being on property, forcing guests to pay the (overpriced in my opinion) Minnie Van fares if they didn't want to utilize Disney transportation.
I was just curious, thank you for relieving my curiosity.
I have friends going to Disney in a few weeks for their first visit to Disney and I'm wondering if I should suggest this to them as an option? They are staying at Pop but the first night they have reservations at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club.
Would it be possible for them to take a Minnie Van from the Yacht Club to Pop after supper? (I don't believe they can take one from Pop to the Yacht Club but please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Thanks!

There are roughly 44 hand picked people who live with in the 2 towns. Some are Disney employees and some are Reedy Creek employees. The thing that keeps them loyal is the very affordable land rental cost. I don't think you could find 75 but, does this mean that if they wanted to Disney could technically ban Uber and Lyft at some point in the future? a month for a lot rental many other places.
I want to know also. I just downloaded the lyft app and do not see anything about minnie vans.Do you have to use the Lyft app to order the vans or will bell services call one the way they will for a taxi?
Thank you for the very interesting replies! But, does this mean that if they really wanted to, Disney could ban Uber and Lyft from property at some point in the future?

But they are turning it on for guests at other resorts. Someone staying at CBR used it this morning to get to an early ADRIt is through the Lyft app and can only be used once it is turned on by a CM at bell services once they confirm you are a resort guest staying at one of the 3 participating hotels.

So who knows seems to be the answer
Here's why they will NOT be banning Uber/Lyft from Disney property.Thank you for the very interesting replies! But, does this mean that if they really wanted to, Disney could ban Uber and Lyft from property at some point in the future?
This was a CBR guest and it was done was all done at CBR. They weren't going to/from Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk at all. Turns out it was a special situation. That's all I was able to find out.The bell services at CBR turned it on or they had it turned on at Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk? I just give the most official information I can find which right now is guest staying at the 3 resorts.

It doesn't take anything more than using your brain for just a minute to figure it out, I promise.
So this whole thing about Disney starting to ban Uber/Lyft is just silly. I don't understand why anyone can't see that

I guess not being snarky only works one way for you. I was very offended by your last sentence to me that I quoted above. I tried to answer your original question and that was the response you gave to me.Good afternoon. I asked a simple question that didn't require an answer that involved a condescending tone, and quite frankly, was hurtful, which may not be what you intended, but it's what came across. I have a brain and I use it daily, thank you very much. It was a simple question that others have answered with more kindness and useful information. Please think about how you respond to people on these boards. Just because something is clear to you, does not mean it is automatically clear to other people.
The your and you in my post wasn't actually meant to be you directly. My mistake. It was a figurative, collective you. This question is brought up a lot and it really does surprise me that more folks can't figure out that it's not going to happen. I'm not that smart. It really isn't that hard to figure out if some thought is put in to it. If I can see it I can't help but wonder why others can'tGood afternoon.
