Can you reserve your minnie van transportation ahead of time? I am wondering how hard it is to get one first thing in the morning to MK. From what I am reading they take you right to the MK where as uber cannot? So if you uber it goes to the ticket/transportation and then do you get on another monorail to get to the MK? Just trying to figure out the best way to go early monorail, boat or other transportation. I guess we could walk but saving steps for after we get into the park. Thank you

Uber: takes you to the transportation center and you hop the monorail or boat over.
Minnie vans: go right to the gate, not sure if you can pre-reserve.

Buses run earlier than posted times typically, if you’re worried about getting to the gates for rope drop or an early ADR.

No, you cannot book MV ahead of time. How easy it is to get one depends on many factors, such as time of year, occupancy levels, even the weather. If you decide to use a MV start looking maybe 30 minutes prior to when you planned to leave so you can see availability and decide whether you need to get into the request queue earlier than you planned.

Uber and Lyft will drop you at the TTC and you will need to use the ferry or monorail to get to MK from there.

Which resort are you traveling to MK from, as that can make a difference in what transportation we recommend?

Minnie Vans go all the way up to the MK bus stop, while Uber and Lyft drop you at the TTC. You'd have to take a boat or monorail from there.

In my experience, Disney transportation is usually the best way to rope drop a park. The earliest but from your resort will get there before you could by driving or taking Uber. The first bus usually picks up 15 minutes before the advertised time and will get you to the park around the time the parking lots open.

You don't say where you're staying, but the most convenient way to MK from your resort is probably taking the resort bus to MK.

We did Minnie Van from AKL-Kidani on a Sunday am in October for rope drop at MK. I had my elderly parents with us and we were switching resorts so had to drop luggage for transfer. My adult children and their significant others took the bus, left room around 6:25 or so for early entry rope drop. We left room about 15 minutes after, dropped luggage while I ordered the Minnie Van about 6:45, it was there between 6:50-6:55 am. Arrived at MK about 7:15-7:20 I think. We literally caught up with our kids without making my parents run lol.

It was about $55 I think with tip. Best $55 I spent all trip. Disney Music, lovely driver, low stress for my parents that early in the morning (our only super early morning in the trip).

I say try it if you want to. Just know you may have to do bus as back up.

As a side note. If you take an early, early Uber and get dropped at TTC the monorail is usually not running at that time and you are forced to take the ferry which starts at 8:00 for a 9:00 open.

Thank you. Sounds like a perfect plan. My thoughts exactly. Sometimes its kind of nice to splurge and start the day off right. Sounds like you had a great time.

Good to know! My daughter has been wanting to use the Minnie vans!

Minnie Vans are Lyfts but with Cast Members. Unfortunately, you can only reserve between 6:30am and 12:30am the next day (unlike regular Lyft which will let you book 30 days ahead).

So basically you can request a ride the day of? I am thinking of using them a few times this trip and want to make sure I understand it :)
