On a recent trip a driver told me something interesting - that they are doing a lot of "split shifts" - meaning they work the morning rush, are off for several hours mid-day, then back for a 'second shift' for the evening rush. Personally I've had really good experiences finding availability during the rush periods as there always seems to be at least one "finishing up a route" and it'll connect you... but I've had terrible experiences with availability mid-day, so what this CM had to say made some sense. That kind of thing could always change on seasons/staffing levels, etc, but I thought it was interesting.
