I can't seem to find a price for this. We are going during a weekday and there will be 5 of us. The twins are 4 and the oldest girl 9. We are too cheap to pay for Goofy and Friends, but have good things about Minnie and Friends. I can't find the price though just that it is cheaper.:confused3

BREAKFAST PRICE: Adults: $23.99[$27.99], Children (3-9) $11.99[$15.99]

Peak pricing [$XX.XX] for Character Dining at the Disneyland Resort is in effect 03/16/12 - 08/19/12

Anyone know how much tax plus tip is added to that price? I know tip is usually 15% + but trying to figure out what the meal gets taxed at.

Just so you know, the meal is served buffet style and is not full service, so you may adjust your tip accordingly. The tip is not charged in advance, unlike other character meals at Disneyland. :)

Drats - I was mainly trying to figure out if we are losing money with our vouchers from GAT for character meals - it looks like we are.

ETA - Our character meals with tax but no tip come to 155 - but we paid 184. There is a 15 fee to cancel - should I cancel or just eat the difference? I would almost feel bad not tipping unless this is considered okay.

That being said, I should probably book for Plaza Inn as a character meal as it looks like it will cost us about what anywhere else will for a meal!

What is GAT? Maybe point out that you are being overcharged? Maybe they will adjust something for you.

GAT = Get Away Today

I recall a post somewhat recently on here from someone else who had this issue with GAT. They figured out that buying the vouchers for an off-season character meal through GAT was actually more expensive than waiting to pay at the meal. I believe GAT allowed that person to return the vouchers.

I would ask for a refund on the basis that these vouchers are being sold with the claim that they are saving the buyer $10 over gate prices, but they are not in fact doing so. I have been perplexed by the GAT character meal voucher prices for a while. Here's an example of why:

An adult regular character meal voucher from GAT costs $33. The last time I went to Minnie's character meal was peak season, and the price per adult was $27.99. Tax is 7.75% so adds an additional $2.17. Since Minnie's is self-serve, tipping is looked on as variable by some and optional by others. Setting that aside though, a 15% tip would add $4.20 and a very generous 18% tip would add $5.04. So during peak season, you might at most spend $35.20 at Minnie's per adult. Since the regular character dining voucher from GAT is $33, this clearly is not the $10 savings they are claiming, and is no savings or even a loss if you don't subscribe to the idea of tipping 15%-18% for a self-service (meal and drinks) buffet. Even if Minnie's price has risen to $29.99 since I was last there, then with tax, before tip that's still only $32.31. The situation is even worse during non-peak season since the last non-peak price for Minnie's I recall seeing was $23.99.

I want to add that I have had good experiences purchasing hotel and Disneyland ticket packages from GAT, but I wouldn't buy character meal vouchers from them.

Per a post in another thread the Get Away Today vouchers DO include tax and gratuity (tip). You can even check their website.

Right, but I am not saving anything with their vouchers. For example, I paid $40 for an adult premium character voucher.

It is $31.99 for dinner at GK (premium). 31.99 x 1.2575 (tax + 18% tip) = 40.22
So I am saving a whopping 22 cents and not the money they claimed I was saving.
