Day 1: Who goes where when???
We knew planning this trip that the first day just getting everyone to Florida was going to be interesting. Fortunately it worked just as planned and we all got there in perfect order. Heres where it was interesting. I am the only one of the 5 of us currently enrolled in College so I had class the morning we were leaving (Oct. 18) but my car had been damaged in a hail storm and I dropped it off to be fixed early that morning. My mother gave me a ride to campus and after class my sister picked me up.
While I was in class, Sara, Megan, and Lucas finished packing and brought Lucas to the airport. Due to booking problems he was on a different outbound flight than the rest of us. We would be catching up with him in Memphis later that day. Once he was safely through ticketing and security Sara and Megan went to pick up Ben.
By this time Lucas was at the airport boarding the plane, I was last minute shopping with my sister, and Sara was heading back to the airport to drop off Ben and Megan. This was necessary as we realized that Sara, Megan, and Lucas father had to get to the airport for a flight to Alaska and we could not all fit in the car once they picked me up so back to the airport Sara went. She then drove back home to pick up her father, then to my house to pick me up.
Finally, the last of us were headed to the airport. This was the first time I had flown with the new TSA rules regarding liquids but had no problems getting through security. Sara and I met up with Ben and Megan who were waiting at the gate and we boarded the plane for Memphis.
Once in the state of Tennessee we met up with Lucas who had been there since that morning and went to find dinner. WOW, talk about highway robbery, it cost $14 to get a personal pan pizza and a bottle of Sprite. After eating we all then got on the only plane where we would all be flying together and were bound for Orlando.
We arrived in Orlando on time and only slightly confused the DME representative with our several outbound flights but got it all straight and boarded out bus for Coronado Springs Resort. We were all quite surprised we waited at the Airport until the bus was FULL, it was midnight at this point, so we didnt actually check in until about 1:00 am.
Checked in and more than tired we headed right to our rooms in Casitas 5, connecting rooms just like we requested, and went directly to bed.
Our luggage was delivered at 2:20 am by DME by the guy was very nice and did it as fast as possible and as quietly as possible. I was the lucky one to have to get up to answer the door. That was fine until I opened the door and realized in a painful hurry that the outdoor hall lights remain on at night. It was only about a minute before I got to go back to bed again as the Magic Kingdom was calling the next morning and Mickey was set to call at 7:00 am.
Tune in Soon For Day 2!
