Minivan Rates for May 2007

We have a Minivan reserved through Dollar (using the KISS2 promo code) for 5/6-5/13 for $204.90 including all taxes. Even with Dollar Express, we'd still prefer to use National or Alamo because we can go straight to the lot and pick out our own van using Emerald Club or Qui*ksilver. But, the rates I'm coming up with even with codes are at least $100 more. Does anyone have a better one-week rate for a minivan using either company? Thanks!

Wow, I think that is a great rate! In fact, I just booked one for September because of your post! I've never seen mini vans so cheap! We were going to just get two cars but this is wonderful. If you find a better deal with Alamo, please let me know as well. I'd prefer to use them. Has anyone had any experiences with Dollar they'd like to share? No problem! Actually, we just used Dollar at this rate in October. Previously, we'd only used Alamo and National so this was our first experience with Dollar. It was fine -- it was just a bit more hassle to have to stop at the counter (Express line, so no waiting, but still...) and at the garage to pick up the keys, instead of just walking out to the aisle. And you can't pick your own van like with Alamo/National (they pick for you), so we got a Chrysler/Dodge model that was small compared to the Chevy/Pontiac/Buicks we'd gotten with Alamo/National, but we were OK.

I think we're just spoiled because last May we got Alamo at $98 for the week including taxes! So to pay twice as much for Dollar in October for a smaller vehicle didn't feel great. But I guess it's all in your perspective!

Still, if anyone has a comparable Alamo/National rate, though, I'd love to hear about it!

I prefer National too but just booked Dollar thanks to your info. I got a minivan for 9 nights in mid April for $280.48 with all taxes etc. included. I'll keep watching but that's a great rate to start at. Thanks!

According to my information, Yes. I just booked a full size 4 door with Dollar for 9 days in May for a total rate of $222 using this code. That's more than $100 less than anything else I had seen.

I just rented a minivan and an economy car for our trip in may 2007. Cost of both cars is cheaper than renting a passenger van. It is also $50 cheaper in total than our last minivan rental!

wow, these are great rates!! I'm helping my sis plan her trip at the end of April, will this dollar KISS2 code work for them or is there an expiration of some kind?? This is for MCO?

I also tried to use this code. It wouldn't let me, so I called the 800. The agent said that there are no KISS2 specials available for my dates. The best I could is book under the BJ's rate. Hope this helps anyone who wasn't having luck with this code!!

I just wanted to update that I reserved a minivan for my sister at a rate of $318 (with all taxes) for for 10 days, april 28- may 8th. Great deal! Thanks for posting it!!
