So, I have somehow been elected to become my 80something year old great uncle's/ girlfriend's travel agent, lol. I have already booked their airfare and now they want me to find them a van rental at a good price. Ahhhh, such is the season for "Acts of Kindness" right???
Generally if it is for me I would have already started looking and had an idea about what is out there. Since it is for them, and they wanted an answer 2 minutes after they asked me, I have not really found anything that impressive...

Was hoping that maybe some of you had found something that I have not.

Thanks!!!

Tried priceline today for a January 15-January 25 (10 day minivan rental) and bid $20 a day. It was rejected but said you had a good chance at a $25 a day bid and great chance at $27 a day. A $25 a day rate is actually pretty good ($175 a week). The lowest advertised price I've seen minivan rentals in Orlando in January was $199 a week.

Let me know if anyone else gets a bid accepted between $21 and $25.

I agree that if you can get a minivan at $199/wk that's a great rate. We booked one last January at that price, but we booked it 6 months prior. The rates never went below $199/wk after that. I would either do priceline (remember that they don't get an additional driver with PL) or wait for last minute deals.

Tha pnks!!!

Try Budget using BCD number x474200 (travelocity public code) and $25.00 E-Coupon MUWZ023. The $25 dollars will be deducted when you return the vehicle.

I joined Emerald with National, and DH joined whatever they have at Budget. We kept comparing different companies and different coupon rates (AAA, Entertainment book, etc.). Just as I was about to book a Full Size car I noticed a spot on the National website for last minute specials. They had a Minivan for only $224! Previously they were all more than 500-600+ dollars.

I wanted to use a well known company. There were much lower rates at three companies I never heard of. They might be worth looking at.

I have a van booked for Feb for $225 with Budget using the code that webworm mentioned. I will cancel if I can find a better rate!

I tried again Sunday at $20 (as it said good chance $23 and great chance $25) and got rejected. Then tried again tonight and bid $22 and got rejected. So hopefully $23 works tomorrow!

No go on the $23 bid tonight... good chance now says $26... oh well...keep trying!

how much more expensive is it if we just want a day rental? We are a returning WisH trip family staying at Dis Movies, but we really want to go to Give Kids the World and see our son's star...GKTW is about a 25 min drive from DW, and there are 9 of us- so doing the Mears thing will be pretty expensive.
