Minivan rates?! Any good deals?

We usually rent a standard size car for our family of 4 and have paid anywhere from $75/week to $200/week, depending on when we go. This trip we are bringing my parents and need something that seats 6. I looked into minivan rates and can't believe what I'm seeing! $500 or more for the week!

Is this the normal price? What have you paid? We're going Oct 30 for 1 week.

Have you checked the Mousesavers website for car rental codes? I usually find a good code there, but often the best deals show up a month or so before the start of your rental. The best rate I've found on a minivan has been $199/wk, but there have been times where we've paid a bit more too. Good luck!

Budget has a BCD discount code from Costco that always works well for us BCD U201546

Alamo has a last minute rate code: "IG" that can be used about 1-2 weeks before trip. We were seeing rates of over $500 for minivan or SUV, and at last minute got rate of $250 for SUV using this code.
