Minivan or car to seat 8 people?

We are flying in to MCO and there are 8 of us altogether. I was planning to just rent a minivan, and didn't even consider we wouldn't all fit. My Honda seats 8, but I'm realizing the minivans at the car rental place only seat 7. Anyone know of a rental company that has vans that seat 8 or if there is a van that has 2 bench seats in the back and would seat 8. Do I need an SUV? They say they only seat 7 as well.

You're best bet would be a 15 passenger van. How much luggage will those 8 people have? My family of 4 barely fits in our van when we travel for longer than a weekend trip.

I agree with the PP, while there are some vehicles that seat 8, like a Sienna, whatever do you plan to do with the luggage and if there are littles one, what would you do with a stroller. We travel with our daughter and her husband and the 2 girls (now 8 & 5) (4 adults and 2 kids). There are many trips where we had a minivan (7 and 8 seaters) and could barely get 5 suitcases and a stroller in and when we did it was tight! Last year we had a suburban and it fit perfectly with the 6 of us and suitcases and stroller. There were seat belts for 8 in the suburban and good luggage space.

Alamo has a Toyota Sienna that seats 8, but the concern here maybe be the luggage.

i also would be worried about luggage fitting in minvan for 8 people. know our MAW trip with 6 got a bigger van because of luggage concerns. i can not see all the luggage fitting in either a 7 or 8 passenger

where are flying into. We had 1/2 ride ME to and handle our luggage, and the others rented a minivan. Then you can drop off your luggage at check out. it is not needed to ride ME on your way back. Just a thought.......

When we flew in 2007 and rented from Dollar we got a 12-passenger van that they took the rear seat out of leaving us exactly room for 8 and lots of room. It was $800-something back then for one week. Ford E-350. We now own one.

Decided to rent a minivan plus a car for the grandparents. $500 total, much cheaper than an oversized van!

The Toyota Sienna holds 8 people. National, Alamo and Enterprise have these vans. They also have a few SUVs that hold 8, some of the Traverses and the Expeditions.

15 pax vans are very expensive, you cannot remove the rear seat and it does not have a lot of room for luggage. They are also very miserable to drive, get terrible gas mileage and you have to sign a waiver to rent one. Most insurance companies will not cover you if you rent one of these.
