Hmm, I maight just be having a really dense moment but im confused!!!!
Im on Mouse weddings looking through all the reception locations- I like the idea of the Cal Grill and Narcoossees. When you're on the wishes reception page it says there is a min spend of $1500 an a min spend Per person of $100 (this is at Narcoossees) then when you go though to look at the sample menus, it says there is no specific min spend and the fixed menu prices start at $65. Could anybody enlighten me on why the price is different as Im starting to think that im losing my marbles!!!
Cheers

I just looked at the mouse website too and I see what you mean it is kind of confusing.

Grand Floridian - Narcoossees

Narcoossees is a lovely restaurant at the Grand Floridian Resort, located on the edge of the lake and separated from the rest of the resort. With a menu that specializes in regional seafood, it's an elegant location for your reception. The decor is Victorian, with gingerbread woodwork. In the daytime it's light and bright, with large windows overlooking the lake.

Narcoosees seats up to 133 guests and existing seating arrangements must be utilized. The restaurant is available for breakfast and lunch receptions only. The event must end before 3:00 pm. The pre-reception and reception take place in the same space.

For more information on Narcoossees, including sample menus, click here.

Overall food and beverage minimums for this location:

* $1,500, plus 20% service charge, plus 6.5% tax.

Per-person food and beverage minimums for this location:

* $100/person, plus 20% service charge, plus 6.5% sales tax.

that's what I'd go with since it's for a wedding reception. I think the menu link that they have on site is just if you want to go to the restaurant for no occasion. If still in doubt call disney weddings or your coordinator or the resturant. HTH!

Yeah, that was what I was thinking, but it still makes no sense to me! If I like the fixed menu that they offer and my party is within the size limitations i.e 32 why should I have to pay more as it is just something to do with a wedding??!! I think like you say I will give them a call, I just didnt want to sound really silly on the phone if I had just read it wrong!

I was confused about that too when I was looking at menus from different places, but from what understand (from what the wedding coordinator told me) is that even though the menu prices are lower than $100, you have to make it up somewhere else, whether it's from drinks, appatizers, desserts (some places include wedding cakes, some do not). And the overall minimum of $1,500 just means like if you have less than 15 people, then you need to spend more per person to get up to the overall minimum. It is confusing, and I very well could be understanding all this wrong.

That sounds like it makes a bit more sense! So am I right in saying that I could have the $65 menu then add my extras to it i.e drinks and desserts? as long as I hit the $1500 min? Does your wedding cake count towards the minimum?

I had looked at that restaurant before, and I think its the case that if you were going to be holding a reception there in the morning or afternoon (when the restaurant is otherwise closed and the only party present would be your wedding guests), you would need to adhere to the $1500 minimum with a per person minimum of $100. Or, if you want to be dining there as a group for dinner (while the restaurant is open and they have other guests), you can use the $65 fixed price menu. You would need to talk to your planner though about how that would count (if at all) towards your wedding minimums, though, since I've never asked about that... they may have some ideas for how to come up with a cheaper menu for earlier in the day, too. Good luck! :goodvibes

Oh right.... I had not realised that it was not normally open for lunch! Its all rather confusing, I wish they could just make it a little bit easier!!!!!!!

We are having our reception(wishes wedding) at Narcoossee-they only do wishes receptions before the restaurant opens-to be finished by 3:00. The menus on mouseweddings are is you we having an escape wedding and a dinner arranged on your own for after. Hope that makes sense.
our minimum because it is a GF was $100pp- can be met by pre-reception/reception/drinks/cake
i'd be happy to clarify anything if I can!! :)
