I was watching my DVC informational DVD and it stated that the minimum amount of points per year you can get to join is 160. I was just wondering, does that mean that it is pointless for me to look into purchasing a resale of less than 160 points/year(for example, I was looking at one resale listing of 100 points/year), or would I still be able to buy that and use them normally??

(I hope I worded that clearly. Just ask for clarification if I didn't)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, it basically breaks down that there is a minimum buy-in if you go through Disney. Usually it's a 160 pt. minimum, but they actually have a deal going now where you can start with 100 points, though I'm not sure if that's a permanent decrease.

If, however, you want to go resale, you can buy any sized contract to start. There are quite a few threads on resale vs. Disney, so I won't go into that, but you should buy what you're comfortable with.

Once you have points, Disney loves you just the same, no matter whether you have 50 points or 2000 points, they just want you to spend them. :)

Good luck!

The 100 point buy in with DVC is a pilot program in response to a slowing economy. No word on how long it will last.
