What is a good length of cable to bring for hooking up to cable at the fort. I wasn't sure since we've never really used cable before anywhere. We requested 300 loop for our first RV trip to the fort. Thanks!
Yea, 20 feet or more should do you good, the cable comes from right next to your site, so unless you have some weird hookup all the way in the front of your camper, 20 feet + should be enough.
25 ft should be fine, but if you can find a longer run on the cheap ... I figure you can never have too much coax.
Another thing you might want to grab is a male-to-female coax adapter which you should be able to get for ~$1 or so at any Radio Shack. When we tried hooking up to the cable in the Ft, the female connection on the outside box wasn't working. Then we found TWO other coax lines running along the sand near the box. They both had male terminations. We threaded an adapter on one and got our cable reception! I'm not sure how often people have multiple coax lines on the site though ?? It seemed strange but we got the cable working.
I have a 100 foot length. We stayed on a site where the cable box was dead so we ran our coax over to the next site and shared their hook up. I've need that kind of length more then once.
We also have about 100 foot for the same reason. We may never use more than 25foot but, I would rather keep 75 foot rolled up than need " a little " more and not have it.
You will probably never need more than 25foot but, I'm a little paranoid, uh I mean cautious
