I'm in the midst of trying to plan a trip for the 2nd week in December and I'm trying to see how few days I can get away with.

Right now, I'm thinking 6 days (that including arrival and departure day) - I want to do the party, Candlelight Processional and have some park time in all four parks.

Do you think that would be doable in 5 days?

Yep! I did a 5 day December trip and did all that.
Actually we skipped HS and had resort day but could have done HS instead.
Then 1 day AK, 1 day MK, 1 day Epcot (with CP) and 1 day for MVMCP (we didn’t do a park before party but could have)

You could do it in 5 days, but you wouldn’t get to see everything. (Though that’s impossible anyway). We like to do 3 days in MK, 2 in Epcot, 1 and a half in AK and half a day in HS. That gives us enough time to take in the atmosphere of the parks and do the rides we want without rushing around. But everyone’s different.

Yeah, I know we wouldn't be able to see everything - we are mostly going to see Christmas stuff but want to check out Toy Story Land and Pandora too. We'll be back in a couple of years anyway :)

Thanks!

Sure can. I did a Tuesday night arrival and Sunday afternoon departure and I did everything that I (i.e. my kids) wanted to do. Tuesday night we just got our resort stuff settled.
Wed Epcot MK (MVMC party night)
Thur HS (break) then AK
Fri AK (break) then HS
Sat MK break) EP (end with Fireworks Cruise)
Sun MK (depart)

There wasn't one ride missed or character that we did not meet (according to their taste). No RR or Dino.

Enjoy

Yes. We did 7 nights last December with 5 day base tickets (plus a MVMCP ticket). I only did the 5-day ticket because I HAVE to go to EP for 2 days on each trip (it's my favorite park and I have to start and end there, but that's just me!). We also went to MK earlier on our party night so we could do all of the rides we wanted to do and then had a more relaxing party. We went to all four parks and did everything we wanted to do (including all Tier 1 rides in EP, a full day in AK, a full day in MK plus the party, plus an afternoon/evening in DHS as we don't ride ToT or RnRC). We will be doing the same thing next December.

We tend to arrive on days that have MVMCP and attend that evening. It just seems to kick off the vacation being in the MK the first night.

We did this exact same thing last year. We arrived on Sunday stayed off site then checked in and hit AK early on Monday. Didn't make it for EMH though. Tues we did Epcot, Wed we did HS and MK, Thurs we did MK and DS and Fri we did Epcot and HS. We didn't want to do CP because none of the speakers interested us. We got in almost everything we wanted to do. Mostly because we were new to the FP+ system and all the planning now involved. We will be back this December and plan on making up for what we didn't accomplish in 2017. Good luck in planning this trip. I think if you have a good plan you can get everything you want to get done in that amount of time.

Yes, definitely. My average length of stay is 3 days... lol

Yes, you can do it. You are a repeat guest who is going to see what's new and catch the holiday highlights. That is totally doable in 5 days. I might recommend an extra day or two to a first time visitor, but for what you want to accomplish, that is probably the perfect amount of time.
