:confused3Hi All- went onto Mousesavers and I couldn't find any recent codes for rentals... we are cruising on the Magic on 2.20- best rate I got was 800$ or 2 one way rentals (which seems like a HUGE pain) one way for 78$ and the other way from $98 using a code from dollar- Help!!:confused3

Thank you!

We used Priceline and got a Minivan for 6 days from Alamo for around 42 a day after taxes, I think (total cost under 300 bucks). The nice thing with Priceline and rental cars at MCO (Orlando Airport) is that they choose only from the major rental companies, and they are all right across the street from the baggage claim. It only takes about five minutes for the whole rental/check out process. Very convenient.

By the way...the cheapest minivan rental was about 550 bucks for the same timeframe...got about 50% off through Priceline.

Did you look at the other thread on Budget?

I got 2 rentals (one way each) for $50 for a minivan each way.

HI, just go to the car rental you are looking for on line. OK...I rented for you to see if it works....Good new! it does. Go to Avis dot com, had you guys coming in to mco[Orlando] friday Feb. 19th [ day b-4 your Magic C], going to p3f [Cape Canaveral], getting a mini van for $35.75 , w/tax, a total of $40.40......yes...40.40. OK coming from port to Orlando air port using AVIS again Sat the 27th of FEB., I got you guys a standard SUV, [could NOT get a mini van] for $30.75 W/ tax a total of $ 37.92....yes 37.92 I see where AVIS is not charging a differant location drop fee... good for you. OK.....you need this CODE, it is xxxxxx . HAPPY SAILING................PS And with AVIS the both of you can drive without that $9.99 extra person drive charge. We did last Sept...double check. OK

I have been looking for options to rent a car as opposed to shuttle. This was perfect my search is over. We are going on the Magic 2/20. Doing Universal Studios one day before cruise and one day after. This Avis deal was perfect. Thanks for info and the Code #.

I dont know if I would use that code for Avis. It is a state of Florida contract price and is listed in contracts to Florida government agencies. If you use it and they ask you for ID to use the code... you may be out of luck.

I did try to use the code on a reservation. Using my avis login I got a minivan rate of $160. When I logout, I get a rate of $35.

I can only guess that since my address is not in FL the system assumes I cannot be using a FL govt rate.

I used your dates and the Budget code Z619843 but it came to about $60.00 for a minivan from MCO to the port

Do you know of anybody that's used AWD #A113400 for Avis. Looks like it's for Florida government employees.

I think that is internal code. It's bad to use it.

Why use such risky code? This is indeed Florida Empolyee discount code. If you are unable to provide proof upon rental, you may end up paying full price. I have found AWD C031529 (some technology company) offers better discount without need of ID. Case in point:

FLL April 21-28
A113400 - $166 Full Size
C031529 - $150 Full Size

MCO April 21-28
A113400 - $209 Full Size
C031529 - $160 Full Size

Lostrider- We're on the Magic that day, too! :flower3: Check out our cruise meet!

Husurdady- isn't it kind of a pain to go thru the rental stuff twice? Can 6 people fit in a SUV? How far a walk from the cruise ship is Avis? Thanks so much for being my personal TA!! :thumbsup2

None of the car rental companies near the port are within walking distance. The road they are all on is a very busy highway with no sidewalks near the port area. However, all of the rental car companies have a free shuttle to/from the port.

as mentioned, not within walking distance. But all have shuttles.

What we did was to stop at the Port before returning the car -- everyone (except the driver, duh) gets out there with ALL the luggage (the porters are great). Everybody else goes into the terminal and checks in while the driver drops off the car and returns via the shuttle (driver will need photo ID -- driver's license -- to get into the terminal).

And watch out for re-filling fees -- last time the rental agency wanted $7.50 a gallon to re-fuel. But, to their credit, suggested that I drive a block further to a gas station -- which I did and re-fueled for myself

I have been known to have as many as 4 differant [which I have now for this summer] cars rented from 4 rental company. When you have your family with you,and something you don't like at 1 company, walk away and go to the next car rental counter. I got " TOOK " one time and from then on I always have A back up plan. And now your ?........It's unsafe to walk...next ?.........I don't know if 6 will go into an SUV,[it was a chevy trail-blazer] like I said, out of the port using Avis, they had no vans. I would, to be on the safe side have DOLLAR as my back up plan. It's directly accross the street from Avis....NEXT ?...I enjoy helping people, the P. t a thing was nothing. HAPPY SAILING.
