I'm heading to WDW in November with family, but will still have 2 more vacation days to use before the end of the year. I was thinking of maybe shooting back to WDW solo for New Year's weekend (leave the night of 12/29 (12/31 is a company paid day off) & return the night of 1/3). I've been there once before over New Year's and know it's PACKED.

I was also just thinking of maybe shooting down at the end of August for my birthday. My family will be away, so I'll be flying solo. Maybe leave the evening of 8/26 and return the evening of 8/30. Would this be a better weekend?

HELP!!!!

Of course the time period 1/6 through 1/20 would be a lot less crowded, but I think being at WDW during New Years Eve would be exciting. What better way to ring in the New Year. ;) I guess it depends on what your goals are. Do you plan on spending a good bit of time in the parks? If so, I would shoot for the 1/6 through the 1/20 time period. If it is going to be a laid back trip, I would go for the 12/29 through the 1/3 time period. Good luck with your decision. :)

Popped over to Southwest and found a roundtrip flight at the end of August for $125. I have an AP, so I would not have to buy any passes. I'd use Mears, so that's only $25 and called Disney and was told that the AP rate at Pop would only be $308 for the 4 nights/5 days. I'd be dining on the cheap side (with the exception of my birthday dinner) and bringing breakfast, so I should be able to do meals under $100.

Still debating though, since New Year's would be fun down there.

What would you guys do?????

Wondering if I should just wait and save my $$ for my next trip in May or move the May trip to August and the October trip to December.

Those are great airline rates; the cheapest I have seen for awhile. If you can take the August heat; I would take advantage of the great airline rates. The only risk you take in changing the October trip to December is that you may have cold weather in December, and miss out on the fantastic weather in October. If I could take two trips I would take one in August and the other in December, or I would take one in May and the other in October. I afraid I am not being of much help. ;)

I mentioned the thought of going down for the long weekend in August to my sister and she thought it was a great idea, but the idea of spending $600 at the end of August and then another $600 2 months later is alot. On top of that, my family is planning a girls only cruise for next year (probably in September), so I was thinking of maybe doing a long weekend in May, then the cruise in September, then a long weekend in November. This way I get 2 trips to WDW in one year, plus the cruise. Plus, this will give me plenty of time to put money away for all of the trips.

This sounds like a good plan. ;)

As much as I would LOVE to be at WDW for my birthday, it is just too much too soon. However, I may have to scoot down next year for a quickie trip, since my b-day lands on a Saturday.

Just wanted to suggest you check out Jet Blue for your flights as well (seeing that your from Mass). We just went down last week and the fares on Jet Blue were $118 per person and it saved us the drive down to Providence!

We got Song for $116 for our trip this November, so I will definitely be keeping my eyes out on Song, Jet Blue & Southwest for next year. I was thinking of going down in August for my birthday weekend (leave the evening of 8/25 and return the evening of 8/30), in October (leave the evening of 10/6 and return the evening of 10/11), then one more time in November (leave the morning on the day after Thanksgiving 11/25 & return the evening of 11/29). We get Columbus Day & the day after Thanksgiving off a paid company holiday's.

Sound like too much??? I know how crowded Thanksgiving weekend is, but how is it Columbus weekend? Does MNSSHP start that early in the month?

Jet Blue is offering $49 each way to Orlando from Boston on it's web site right now. I think that you need to be a TrueBlue member to get that fare, but that's free to join.
