This is my first attempt at a "mini" trip report. The cast is DH (39 on 9/30), DD (13) and Me (35). We left home on Sat 9/26 and headed to Valdosta, GA. We stayed the night at the Hampton Inn in Valdosta that is beside the Conference Center. It was very nice for $96 a night and it comes with Free Breakfast which is average. We arrived at Disney around 11:30 am Sun 9/27 to check in at the Polynesian. We checked in and our room was not available but we expected that. We were told me had the Samoa building 3rd floor. YIPEE!! That is what we wanted. So we go head to Capt Cooks for lunch and to walk around. We have Free Dining too!! We order Aloha Pork Sandwich, 2 Rice Crispy Treat, Dole Whip, Turkey Club, and Stir Fry. Total was $49.00 or 3 CS. We eat then walk around the resort. It was very HOT. We are from the south but it is still very hot. About 2:00 pm, the resort calls and we walk over to the front desk, the guest in our room decide not to check out so we can't have our room. THe CM wants to upgrade us for FREE to a lagoon view. They want to know if we want to?? YEP!!! We are upgraded to building Aotearoa room 3221!! Guess what?? We can see the CASTLE!!! Yep, we were upgraded to a MK View!!! I about flipped out. We had a MK view at Contemporary last year but decided not to pay for it this year!! I was so Happy!! We buy our mugs ($41.51 for 3) We rest for awhile then head over to MK -- side note since it was all 4's and 5's on the Crowd level I decided to not follow the BEST DAYS. All my days were the AVOID days but it is 4's so I thought I was safe-- We get to MK and OMG!! It was the most crowded we had ever seen. I was scared. We had a ressie at 7:40 for the buffet at Tomorrowland that they were doing for Free Dining. We rode the newly updated TTA (I love the lights!!), Buzz, and Stitch then we have to head over to our Ressie. We get seated as soon as we get there. We used 3 TS the cost would have been $105. The food was good but it was so HOT that we were not able to enjoy it. We eat and walk over to toon town while the fireworks are going off. Barnstormer is closed so we head to Haunted Mansion. We ride it and then decide the food and the heat are not getting along. We head back to our hotel. On the way, I decided I better go back to the Crowd Levels days. I didn't bring the laptop so I call a friend and him look it up. At 9:30 Sunday night, I change all my days and set the alarm for 7:00 am so I can change all my dining. We used 2 Snack for fries and 1 for rice crispy treat sometime this day. I go to bed SCARED to death.
I wake up Monday morning and look at the new plan:
Mon -- DS
Tues -- EP morning and Halloween Party
Wed -- AK
Old Plan:
Mon -- EP (San Angel)
Tues -- Ak morning (Yak & Yeti) and Halloween Party
Wed -- DS (Kona for lunch before DS)
I called Disney Dining and I am able to get:
Mon -- Kona 9:55 pm
Tues -- San Angel 1:10 pm
Wed -- Tusker House 2:45 pm
I am thrilled just to have TS ressies. We go get breakfast. 1 adult breakfast platter, 1 mickey waffle and 2 orange juices -- no dining on this meal $17.85 cash. We head to DS. We head straight to Toy Story. We love the ride. This was our first time on it. We missed it last year. We did Backlot tour, Muphet 3-D, and The Great Movie Ride. We hit alot of shops and stop for lunch at the ABC Commisary. The food was very good. We used 2 CS. We got kids chicken nugget (used adult CS for it) with fries and applesauce, cheeseburger with fries and choc moose. It would have cost $21. We then decide that is everything we want to do so we head back to the hotel to rest. My hubby decides he is hungry once we get there so we use 1 CS for a double cheeseburger with chips and dole whip. It would have cost $16. We rest in the room then get cleaned up for dinner at Kona. We order 3 of the steak meals. They were wonderful!! It would have cost $114 we used 3 TS. We got our cheesecake to go. We were stuffed and very sleepy!!! Tuesday, we head to Epcot early since we only have 1/2 day here. First we get breakfast at Poly -- 2 Breakfast platters and 2 orange juices. We pay $18.49. We get to Epcot and Spaceship Earth has a 10 minute wait. We jump in line. I love this ride. We ride the following in no particular order -- Kim Possible (we did 2 missions), The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Gran Fiesta Tour, and walked around the worlds. We ate lunch at San Angel. I had heard some horrors but decided to give it a try. It was WONDERFUL!! They did have trouble with our order so we got free soup which we didn't like but our steaks and chicken dinners were VERY GOOD. My daughter got a Churro for a snack some time that day. It would have cost $2.50. The San angel meal would have cost $90.44. We went to rest at the resort before the Halloween party. At 7:00 pm we head to the Party. It was so much fun!!!!!! We got 3 bags full of candy (m&M, sweettarts, tootsie rolls, suckers, etc...). Almost all the rides were 10 minutes or less. Somtime this night we shared a CS chicken nugget meal. I forgot to note the price. It was very good. We close the park down and don't leave til 12:30. We are EXHAUSTED!!! Wed, we head to AK but we sleep in til 10:00 am. We closed the curtains and it was pitch black. I couldn't believe it!! We get up and get ready. I go grab us a light lunch (or late breakfast). kids meal grilled cheese with grapes and apple sauce and kids chicken nuggets with 2 orders of grapes. It was $10.63. We head to AK. This is my hubby's Birthday so we head to will call to get his Fun Card!! We chat it up with the CM and he mentions this was the FIRST day since JUNE that it was under 90!!! It finally was cooler for us too. He gets his Fun Card with $79.00. Thanks Disney!! We ride the following in no particular order: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Watch part of the Parade, Kali River Rapids (2), My DD & DH ride Expedition Everest (2), and Primeval Whirl. We eat lunch at Tusker House. The food was very good but it was a MAD House in there. It was so loud. We were in a little side room/area which helped some but we decided we would never eat there again. We stay til closed. I think it was 6:00 by the time we finally get to the bus. Let me say that we were very disappointed in the bus wait times at the Polynesian. On Monday and Wednesday we had to wait over 30 minutes for buses at the Polynesian. The bus waits at the parks was not long at all. We had to stand for all the trips. Wed night we get CS for dinner. We got BBQ flat bread which was WONDERFUL, double cheese burger, cupcake, dole whip, turkey club, muffin and 3 smart waters. I didn't write the price down but I think it was around $40. Thurs morning is our day to leave Disney. We have 2 CS left and 3 snacks. So we grab breakfast of adult breakfast platter, kids french toast, OJ, smart water and apple juice. Again I didn't write the cost down and I have no idea on this one. We eat at Capt Cook then head to the room (side note -- every morning I have grabbed food and we ate in the room because it was ALWAYS crazy in the morning at Capt Cooks). We pack up the car then head in to use the rest of our snacks. We get rice crispy snack, 2 cotton candies, 1 pack of m&m's, bag of chips and 1 pop tart. We say our final goodbye to Disney and get in the car. We are headed to the beach for 2 days before getting home. We arrive at the beach around 3:30 on Thursday (Orange Beach, AL). We have stayed at the Island House Hotel for the past 8 or so years. We love it. We have a nice relaxed beach trip. Then head home today Sat. We get home around 4:00 and start the unpacking. I put in 2 loads of clothes and went to Walgreens to get my pictures printed. They will be ready tomorrow. My DH started to work on our video. My DD charged her phone (which died on day 1) so she could TEXT her friends. I am glad to be home. We had a great trip. It was more crowded than Sept of 2007 and of May 2006 and Nov 2008. It was hot. BUT it was WONDFERFUL anyway. This will be our last trip for awhile --- we are saying Feb 2012 for my DD 16th Birthday. We have decided to try something new for Summer 2010 (not the same beach and not disney world)......so next trip is TBA.....ask any questions. I will try to download pics later.
