Hey all,
We are on the second leg of our holidays now having left Paris and DLP behind for this year :(

We camped in Le Chene Gris and got AP's which meant we could dip in and out of DLP as we felt like it during the week. We ended up going 4 times for half days. We didn't eat in the parks much at all other than ice-creams or doritos and one of the days we got filled rolls from Restaurant des Stars which were absolutely gorgeous.

Highs and Lows

Lows first as there were very few:
  • the crowds.. wow, so busy. It really meant you had to be clever about timing and getting fast passes, and accept that some things just weren't going to happen. We could barely even see Dreams with the kids on our shoulders even though we got to the Castle 40 mins before the show began
  • the heat... not DLP's fault, but the heat was suffocating and the few water fountains there are in the main park didn't seem to be working
  • ToT having technical problems as our place in the queue had almost reached the front door. It had said 35mins wait on the gate but it ended up being over 90
Highs:
  • Getting our AP's and using our AP's! We got 4 Fantasy but I kind of wished I had gotten 1 Dream pass so as to get the higher discounts. It was still very exciting to get free parking and to be able to drop in and out of the parks as we wanted
  • EMH. With Fantasy passes you get EMH so we planned to use them on our last day. Of course it was lashing rain but we still proceeded. Along with very wet feet we got to do Peter Pan x2, Teacups, Orbitron and Buzz by 8.50am. No one was really interested in doing the Carousel. We had a snack stop outside the gate for breakfast (in the shelter!) and were at the gates of Studios for 9.20
  • The "Frozen" pre-show to Dreams and the Frozen overlay during it. My daughter sat on my shoulders and sang out every word to Let it Go with all her heart. It was brilliant.
  • Ratatouille. LOVED it. I was only sad that I didn't get my husband to queue for fastpasses while we were queuing for the ride, we could have gone on again. There were only about 30 people ahead of us in the queue because we got into the parks early. But the ride is amazing. Absolutely stunning.
  • The Studios really came into light for us on this trip. Because the kids are older now (8 and 10) they are into the thrill rides, so we actually spent more time in the Studios. It was less crowded too. Over the 4 trips we did Flying Carpets, Crush, Ratatouille, Stunt Show, Tram Tour, ToT, Rocknroller Coaster, Cinemagique, Stitch, RC Racer...
  • Seeing my 8 year old daughter do RC Racer for the first time *on her own* because the rest of us were too chicken to do it. She had her hands in the air for the whole thing, little daredevil! She also coerced me onto ToT and Rocknroller coaster. She was gutted to be too short to do Space Mountain and we left Indiana jones for next time
  • Last high - doing all the old favourites again. Phantom Manor, BTM, PoTC, Peter Pan, Buzz.... Has PoTC changed or do I remember it wrong?? I thought it was a small drop and then a bigger one at the end but this time it was the other way around.

I think that's all for now. We had a great time but probably would never go back in August again. Too hot and too busy.
Now we get to plan when to go back and use our AP's again :-D

It sounds like you fit a lot in for four half days! APs are the best, I bet it won't be long before you've another trip planned. ;-)

You managed to do a fair amount. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope your DD is tall enough for SM next time :)

I have kids aged 5,6 and 7. We get magic hours too. Where would you advise we start?

(we have 3 full days at the park with flexibility to leave and come back etc easily)

Oh my, you got lots done :)

DD has plans to get me onto ToT, RnR & SM, when realistically, my limit is BTM (IASW is more my comfort zone lol).

You'll probably hear me screaming from here! We arrive there Sunday so listen out

Great trip report - thank you for posting :thumbsup2

You managed to do so much and it's great to see some many highs and so few lows :jumping1:

Ah thanks everyone. It was a bit stressful at times with the crowds and we discovered my husband cannot cope with tight dark spaces especially combined with crowds. He legged it out of Ratatouille just as we were about to get on :(

For EMH get there by 8. We headed straight to Peter Pan and stayed on for a second go. We then did the Teacups, then Orbitron and finally Buzz. The carousel was open and there were some characters about - Donald on the bandstand, Mickey and Minnie where they usually are and Chip and Dale were in front of the castle. We were not doing characters on this trip.

We also didn't do the Frozen sing along or look at the parades. Maybe next time. My daughter wasn't bothered though.
