Mini-rant from someone who never rants

Well, first off, I'd like to say that I'm generally a big supporter of the new stuff that Yavn adds to VMK. I'm a huge optimist, so I always try to find the postivies in things, even when they're flawed, and I understand that anything new is going to have problems, so I (usually) tolerate them without complaining. However, this is something that has nothing to do with bugs or glitches and it's just downright a huge jerk thing for VMK to do!

When I found out the Fireworks was getting this remix, I was a little upset because I was finally starting to be able to hang with the big players on the old fireworks, but I figured I'll get used to this remixed version and start doing better. I saw the green car goal was 4,500 and I was thinking, "Okay, that's pretty tough, but when I get the feel for this new way to play, I think I may finally be able to get the green car!" I was getting really excited and I was trying to play fireworks as much as I could so I could adjust. I haven't even been able to hit 4,000 yet, but I'm working my way up. Even getting to 4,000 is a challenge, so hitting 4,500 would take quite a lot of work and practice for me.

Well, today I went to make sure I still had the green car quest running and I saw that the score had been upped to 5,500. I felt so deflated. I have no chance of hitting that rediculous score now. VMK had no reason whatsoever to do that! They just absolutely crushed me for no reason! All that excitement for nothing. I'm scoring just barely over half that right now.

So thanks a ton, VMK, for getting people's hopes up and then smacking them down!

If you check the high score list for fireworks today you'll see 6,000 even 7,000 points up there for all the leaders. 5,500 seems to be keeping the Fireworks task in the green car quest on a level that is consistent with the old game.

I can completely understand your disappointment though. I too was thinking that with a little more practice I might be able to finally get that pin. They are trying to be consistent with the task in the green car quest but they aren't interested at all in being consistent the credit reward for playing the game.

Hugs to you. Although my best in the old fireworks game is just over 290,000 (took me many months to get there), so far after a day of playing...my highest in the new fireworks game is only 5170. It's been pretty much downhill from there, so I do understand your pain.

Look, people, I have no sympathy for any of you! I work all day, and I don't have the patience to sit and do one thing in VMK for hours on end for the few hours a day I get to play.

Yesterday I played the new fireworks three times. My best score? Under 700.

I do NOT want to hear about how 4500 or 5500 is out of range! lol

I'd be joyous to crack 1000.

I had a feeling that this would happen. When people started saying yesterday that they might stand a chance with practice, and viewing the high scores from yesterday, I knew this change would be inevitable.

I think some people just caught on to it faster than they thought people would. Unfortunately, some will never get as high as those people.

Nah, in comparison, 5500 is still much easier to achieve than 280,000.

Get them green cars before it's realized and the score is "jerked" up again!

I'm still trying to figure out how people are getting in the 6000-7000 range??? My best was 4400 but I usually end up with about 3400.

Hugs Mint!! It is my fault. They saw how close I was to getting the green car. They had a meeting and said - that Dis girl is really close to getting that green car. She will be at work tomorrow so lets up it and ruin her Tuesday.

Please note this is not the first time the green car was so close I could smell the fumes. Last time, I was busy helping friends ghosts for the tomorrowland quest and figured - oh I will get it tomorrow and they changed the fireworks to 280K. So two times burned by the green car. Thanks VMK.

If you cannot let me get the green car, at least show me more credits.

Not only that but they raised the score for the Yellow car from 1,700 to 4,000. Best I've been able to do so far is a little under 3,000.

Egads - and I was so congratulating myself for actually getting the blue car at all! I have no energy left to try for green (although yellow is my favorite color so I will eventually go for it.)

It stinks that you feel the same way as I do and you're irritated, but at the same time, it's kind of good, because maybe that way, VMK will see how the change has affected people and maybe they will think about being more reasonable. I'd love to see 4,500 again, but I'd settle for 5,000.

So basically, those of us that work and are unable to sit and practice for 4 - 5 hours to get the hang of the new game within a day, get the shaft. I'm in there with ya Mint.

Fortunately over the past week with my inability to get into any of Hula's games, getting treated rudely a few times and some kinds words from some true friends - my outlook and perspective on the importance of vmk to my "real world", has been corrected. I really just don't care that much anymore. It's a series of pixels moving under my video game character on a computer screen. I'm going to enjoy what I can get and let it be. When vmk turns into a constant source of frustration for me, it's time to give myself a break from it and focus my energy on one of my other hobbies.

I cant seem to get the second answer, i know its - white -Grim Grinning ghosts I type it in and it never goes to the next task, am i missing something here?

As for the fireworks i'm as bummed as you, not to mention i have got Semester Tests tomorrow so i have not had much tim eon top of school to practice.

I hear you Mnementh, keep at it tho, 5500 is still out of my range also but some players are crushing that score. Maybe some practice and figuring out the best scoring methods will help! the flawless X 5 bonus seems to be the best chance of making your scores big, every time I try to hard for a combo I miss a firework, reset my flawless, and well... LOSE!!

I feel for you too... I was thinking that maybe green car was within my reach since before I couldn't get past 265k.. Not nice of them to have it 4500 on the first day and then bum it up the next day.. With all the new changes I to have rethought the time I spend on VMK.. Not going to sit around for hours trying to get into a Host room where before it was luck of the CLICK on when you got in.. So much easier before!! Playing 8-10 minutes only to get around 350 credits makes it hard for me to want to keep playing because I only have about 1 or 2 hours a day if that I can play on VMK. So maybe the changes are a good thing because I won't be spending so much time on VMK. Good luck to everyone on your quest to get the green car!
