Mini Misting Fans!

I bought them last night for DD8 and DS10. Found them in the automotive dept. at Wal Mart on an end cap!

Just ran out and got them after reading this thread. They were in the hardwear section on an end cap in a box thingie.

oh my ...our Walmart has different personal fans all over the place...I found some back in hardware, on a "side kick" but not in the fan aisle, some more in the front of the store (in seasonal stuff) by camping and 4th of July goodies and I found misty mates (well I am not sure if they are actual mistymates or a knock off..I am going back tonight to check) in the clearance isle.

Good luck finding them...but they are there!

If you have a Walgreens Drug Store, they sell these mini mist fans, they were 2 for $5.00, and they also had the large size ( as in WDW, without logo of course ) for $4.00,

We found a mister at Wal-Mart the other day that you wear like a fanny pack. It's called the Cool Blast by Misty Mate. It holds up to 16oz. of water and it uses a pump instead of batteries. The tank is insulated to help keep the water cold and has a 3ft cord with alligator clip so you can attach it to your shirt or what not and it weighs around 2lbs.

Go to Misty Mate dot com and click on new items. It the third one in the second row. The website sells them for $54.99 but we got ours for $13 and change at Walmart in the Fan and Air Conditioner section.

Gave it a test run and it worked like a charm. I even caught DW using it to mist her plants. :rotfl2: Can't wait to use it when we get to the World in June.

I actually got 3 of these for our up coming trip in July -- i thought we would fill them with ice instead of water (by the time we get to the parks the ice should be melted) I was really surprised at the amount of water that comes out of these -- my question is what if my DD8 accidently sprays someone else while we are standing in line? Do people seem to get upset, with all these water misters around? Personally I would love to get sprayed especially in JULY :sunny:

DebLuvsTigger,
We used our MistyMate's last year in June- (It was quite hot!) and they worked
especially well when we rode the trams. No one ever seemed offended if they got
sprayed a little!!( I'm sure some would have liked it!!) This year I found the small
O2 Cools and all 5 of my kids are fighting over them!! We will be taking them with us
this Sept. to POP. Thanks for all the great tips everyone!

I've been looking at stores in MA and haven't had any luck. If anyone in MA finds them, can you let me know. I don't want to have to go to Sharper Image and pay $13 a piece!

Thanks!

Nancy

I just pick up 2 of them in Bellingham, MA Walmart yesterday. I also got a really cool looking hand held fan with a little light on the top for my 1 year old that was only a dollar and change. This one also has a clip on the end too!

Anytime I accidentally sprayed someone, I would apologize, but they would laugh and say that it felt really good. I didn't have anyone get mad at all.

If at WalMart, go to the hardware section by paintcounter, that's where our store keeps them every year. Also, check out by toys where they keep the pool stuff in the summertime.

Most of the misting fans belong to the hardware department, that is why they should be there, also another department has smaller features (sidekicks & clipstrips) they can be anywhere around the store...

if i were you i'd buy the smaller mini misters because my first trip to disneyworld we brought the big ones and its such a hassle to carry them around ever since that trip we take with us the smaller ones it makes the trip so much easier.

I finally found them, but not at Walmart! I went to Ogunquit, ME last weekend and found them at a T-shirt shop. They cost me $5 each, but I wasn't haven't any luck at the Walmarts in my area. I really wanted them for my August trip!!

My wife and I were lucky enough to buy these at Walmart for a couple bucks awhile back. For the price, I really wasn't expecting a whole lot of performance from this thing.

This weekend we went to the San Diego county fair and thought it would be the perfect place to test drive these bad boys. Let me tell ya, loads of people (4th of July crowd), lots of blacktop, lots of bbq smoke, and plenty of sun... boy did these things come in useful. It kept us cool perfectly. For a little/cheap thing, it really does the job.

The only drawback was the resevior size but refilling it was hardly an incovenience at all. I maybe had to fill two times. On a seperate note, unbeknowst to me as I was misting myself during the day, I was also removing my sunblock. So waterproof sunblock is now on my check list for WDW this September.

O2 Cool gets my thumbs up! :thumbsup2 I hope this review helps!
