I found the mini misting fans at Wal-Mart and bought 4 for our trip. Each takes 1 AA battery. Anyone know how long a battery lasts in them? I want to make sure I take enough with, since they're so expensive to buy there.

Thanks.

We got ours at Walmart too. I think we changed the battery once during our 7 day trip, but we didn't take it with us the last day or two. Nobody wanted to carry it! I would think a 4 pk would be good, unless you plan to use it constantly.

Sorry, didn't see that you bought four, I'd get a couple packs then, maybe even bring an extra pack. I always OVER pack though!

We shared two fans for our family of four over seven days using them very often. I'm not sure if they are the same as wal-mart carries (got mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond). Never had to change the batteries. :thumbsup2 (BTW, others in lines asked if we would give them a mist, too! :goodvibes )

We'll be there 7 days too, and I bought a 10 pack of batteries. Its sounds like that will be enough.

Thanks.

Just FYI: it's very easy to inadvertantly switch the fan to "on" while you are carrying it, but not notice if it is in your bag. Power will be expended trying to spin the blade, but it won't spin if it is resting against something, whether it is your hip or the bottom of a backpack.

To prevent batteries being wasted this way, I make it a point to flip the battery over the wrong way whenever I put the fan away or pack it in luggage. This also will prevent small children from using the fans at inappropriate times.

What department in Wal-Mart did you find the mini-fans in? I'm looking to get some for our trip, but I'm not sure where to look. Thanks!

I found the mini misters at Walmart today in the paint/hardware area. They were in the back aisle near the bigger fans at the end of an aisle in a display box. They also carry the bigger mister fans with the carrying strap at Walmart and those were in a box on the paint counter.

It was the same area for me. I found the aisle of fans, and then found the mini-misting fans at the end cap 1 aisle closer to painting. The larger fans were on another end cap 2 more aisles down. All were in the painting/hardware type area.
