Hi everyone -

My DD (age 14) and I will be heading to WDW in mid August with a friend of mine - DD and I have been many times but have never done mini-golf - my friend has only been once before but didn't do minigolf that time - she is a huge mini golf fan and that is one thing she wants to be sure to try this time - so my question is - if you have done the mini golf at WDW - which course do you recommend - and is it really worth our time? Also, can you get to the courses using only Disney transportation? We are staying at AKL.

Thanks in advance for any advice....:teeth:

August 8th will be the family's first trip. We all love putt-putt and play on all our vacations.
Check out The Fantasia Fairways for a unigue mini-golf experience. It is designed as a 18 hole course.

Check out this link http://allearsnet.com/btp/golf.htm

I have played similar setups in Mrytle Beach. More skill than luck is involved.

The Fantasia Gardens Mini-Golf was a wonderful place to play! It's right across the road from the Swan and Dolphin Resort. DH and I had a blast! Around sunset the bugs get a little nasty but bug spray can cure that.

Lots of different holes there and very challenging!!!

I highly recommend!

Ditto to everyone else.

Fantasia Gardens is great mini-golf.

On our recent trip, we played putt-putt at both Disney courses: Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland. Both are great.

Fantasia is, of course, themed after the original movie. The site also includes a golf course-like 18 hole putt-putt course.

Winter Summerland has two 18-hole courses themed on Winter and Christmas. Its next to Blizzard Beach.

One of the cool things about both courses - they're designed to be a little easier than most. On many holes, the area surrounding the cup slopes to the cup. It makes getting holes-in-one a little easier. My DW, who isn't a big mini-golf fan, made five!

If I remember correctly, Winter Summerland has more shade.

We did Fantasia Gardens on our last trip. We tried the "realistic" course which we found too hard so we were able to switch to the themed course. It was very cute and a lot of fun.

We have played both courses at Winter/Summerland & the easier/fun course at Fantasia Gardens. While we liked them both, we much prefer the Winter/Summerland courses (Both winter & summer are great, by the way - we just play whichever one is emptier). We always found Fantasia Gardens to be much more crowded, also, as it's in the middle of everything.

As far as the transportation goes, I can't say too much, as we always drive. I think it would be much easier to get to Fantasia Gardens, however, as this is right across the street from the Dolphin/Swan (sorry - don't remember which one, but they're both close by!) As for Winter/Summerland, it's located right next to Blizzard Beach, so you would need to catch the BB bus, I believe.

Have fun! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Could anyone give an aproximate estimate of time this takes from start to finish? Is there usually a wait? Any times of day to avoid?

Weellll, it depends on how studly you are at mini-golf, of course.

We have to factor in the hunt for golf balls that get knocked into bushes, the emergency potty breaks (no hole cutting!) that occur when we are the farthest point from the restrooms, and the arguments over the number of strokes taken (six or seven!).

Generally, I would allow 1 1/2 hours for 4-6 people.

We went around Memorial Day weekend, early evening, around 5 or 6. While there were people around, it was never crowded. We never had to wait, and people never had to wait on us. I suspect its more crowded in the late evenings, as the sun goes down.

I think we are going to take the mini golf option on our dream maker package. We did the leave the legacy tile this past April and that is going to be there for 20 years. Now since the parks are going to close earlier in December, might as well enjoy some mini golf.

Can it be December yet?::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
