Winterland/Summerland is best for younger kids, the kind that want to play miniature golf but don't really know how to play miniature golf. It's also good for families that just want to have fun.
My family of three know how to play miniature golf and on our venture there, we had a ton of fun but I was 14 strokes under par and lost, coming in third. There were a ton of families around us and all had a great time.
The course is located next to Blizzard Beach so you can take a bus to the water park and then walk over or you can drive.
Fantasia has two courses and only one I would recommend to families who want to be speaking to each other at the end of the day. That's the Gardens which is nicely styled but has a few challenging holes. We were behind a family once and there was a hole where the ball had to be put up hill for the last shot. The kids ended up having to stand on the hill (it was a very sloping uphill thing) to even try to attempt it. The dad couldn't even do it. But, the course is nicely done but can be frustrating.
The Fairways course, well, my husband and I have done this twice and the first time, we had two almost adult males with us (our son's friends). After the round, the two almost males looked at us and said "why the hell did we do that?" Then my husband and I tried it a few trips later thinking since we didn't have the "baggage", we'd do better. We threw the score card away after the sixth hole and decided we'd just mark ourselves down for the maximum.
