(I apologize if this is not posted in the correct forum, please feel free to redirect.)

DH and I will be in WDW at the ASMu from May 11-17 and only have 5 day PH passes. Since we will have 2 days away from the parks, I would like to try one of the mini golf courses. I read on allearsnet.com that the price is $10.65 (adult). Does anyone know if this is the most recent price. Also, what are your opinions on each of the courses in regard to theme, location, level of difficulty, value, etc? Which one do you like better and why? (Keep in mind that it will just be the 2 of us). Which one would be easier to get to using WDW transportation? We have never been to either, so any and all opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Colleen :sunny:

The thing about the Fantasia minigolf, is that you need to walk from, say, the Dolphin. And you have to cross a pretty busy street. That being said, it may be fun to go here, golf, then head over to the Boardwalk for dinner and ambiance!

The Winterland/Summerland course is located at Blizzard Beach (close to the entrance) so you can take a bus to BB, and walk (inside the parking lot) to the golf place. Then you can walk back to BB to grab a bus back to your resort. But go while BB is open so you can get the bus!

Maybe someone who has been recently can answer your price question!

Congrats on your anniversary!

We celebrated our 18th anniversary at WDW -
stayed at the CR and received a very nice
certificate from them.
We were also bumped from the North Wing
to the Tower - for the same price ;)

You never know what magic is out there :)

My family prefers the mini golf at Fantasia over Winter/Summerland. It is, however, harder to get to since you have to get to the Dolphin and then walk aways from the bus drop-off to the golf across the street. It was just a much prettier course and they also offer a more conventional golf side or a whimsical side to play on. I don't recall the prices because we had free passes because we had booked the DreamMaker package. I'm sure you will enjoy either one!

We've played both Fantasia and BB mini golf. Fantasia is very difficult and I didn't find it enjoyable. Even my dh and my dad, who is an excellent golfer, found it quite challenging. BB was much more of what I'm used to and I thought the theming was neat too. I would vote for BB mini-golf. Have fun!

BB mini golf is VERY simple. CM there explained that to make the course a challenge (during off hours, of course) they might tee off from the first "green" and try to sink the ball in the 2nd or 3rd "green."

Fantasia is more difficult, but that also means you won't finish the course in 15 minutes.

I guess your prefernce depends on whether you want a challenge that takes some time or if you want something simple and quick.

Yep....just played a round at Fantasia last week.

Very challenging, but very much more like real "golf" than hitting a ball down a sloping ramp angled to go into the hole to speed up play. We stopped keeping score soon after starting; just enjoyed the challenge of each hole.

Cost: $10.00 but 50% off for AP holders.

Try it!!

I read somewhere that you can get a 15% discount with a AAA membership card. Can anyone verify this?

I'm an okay mini-golfer, as is my husband. I had a hole in one on no less than 6 holes at Winter Summerland. I didn't mind, it was the only time I've ever beat my husband, but it was very, very easy.

We've also done both sides at Fantasia Gardens. The "real" golf side was very hard, and although we had fun, we were both way over par.

The fun mini-golf side is a happy medium. It's not really any harder than your local mini-golf place. The themeing is really cute, and the music makes me so happy:) We both shoot under, but close to par on this one, though once my DH got the low score of the day (he beat me by 1!)

We have only played at Fantasia gardens. It cost about $11 a person when we were there in December. The one course is very easy (the one with the Fantasia characters). The fairways course, which has real sand bunkers and much longer holes, is much more challenging. Unless you have kids (or are terrible at miniature golfing:D ) I would do the fairways course.

Also, if I recall correctly, I think there was a discount if you played both courses in the same day, but I could be wrong.

We just played W/S golf. in 1968 I was 3rd place winner in our local /regional jr. putt putt golf tounament. The winter side is much easier than the summer. It was WAY WAY easy. I made a hole in one on my first ball. It had ben 36 years since I had last hit a ball. I made 5 holes-in-one on the entire course. It was just DH and me. It took us 45 minutes. Courses were open
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
19 holes !0.00 + tax
any additional consecutive holes with 50% discount.

Under the AAA Diamond Club plan you get a 15% discount.

GO TO FANTASIA GARDENS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF EPCOTS INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY. PLAY THE FAIRWAYS COURSE. IT IS THE BEST MINI GOLF IVE EVER PLAYED!::MickeyMo

I wanted to bump this as it was an interesting topic. I know there are mini golf courses and have called about them, but why are they such a challenge to get to? Why wouldnt Disney put them on a bus route? I really hate long walks, but I want to play the fantasia Gardens. Are cabs an option?

I just bought an AP, can I buy tickets for DH and me and get discount for both of us?

Does anyone know where there are photos of the courses? This sounds like a great thing to do on a non park day!

With your AP you can get 50% off for yourself and up to 3 guests.

I haven't tried the Winter Summerland course before but I have played at Fantasia before and let me tell you that the "pro" side is really tough. We chose it because there was a long lineup for the fun course ... One other thing I should mention is that if you're playing during the summer, it can get very hot even at night ... As for transportation ... you could take the Dolphin/Swan bus from one of the transfer points (ie. DTD or one of the parks) and then just walk across the street. If you're going to Winter Summerland, the Blizzard Beach bus should take you there ... I'm not sure if they run after the park closes though...
