Mini Fiji TR - hope you don't mind

Great photos. Fiji has not been high on my list either - I just picture the beach and the bar and figure I can do that at home. Your photos have reminded me that real people with their own culture live in Fiji......It looked fabulous!

My twin brother looks to be getting married in Fiji next year, so I have viewed these pics with a lot of interest, and am now thinking I'd like to do a similar private tour to what you have done, and also that I may take some of Jaymi's old clothes with me when I do go. Great pics (I ignore red eyes!), you tell a story really well through the lens.

As usual, I am behind with everything...Didn't get to say farewell, didn't get to say Happy Birthday but welcome home!

The photos are great. I think you are too harsh on your appearance! I've only been to Fiji once and I loved it, would like to go back to there with the kiddies one day but so many other places on my list.

I loved looking at the photos of the school and the village. It really reminds us not to take things for granted and to learn from these amazing people who are happy with what little they have in life, and joyful in life itself.

GOod to have you back!

The other thing I would do if I had my time again would be to call into the $2 shop or similar each week and pick up little packs of pencils and colouring books, stickers, notepads, anything like that. They would be such a "luxury" item for the kiddies.

Oh and BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS.

The people we went with and my family got the address of the school we visited and we plan on sending over a parcel with some different bits and pieces that we think would be helpful. It's not much but I'm sure it all helps.

Shushh - thanks for the lovely welcome back.

Thanks for another great TR Shuttergirl.

I have booked a surprise holiday to Fiji for July this year for the family.

Our 2 DD have no idea we are going on holiday so I need to think of a way of surprising them. Thinking of just packing them into the car and arriving at the airport.

Had to tell DW that I booked a holiday even though I wasn't going to tell her either. But alas she started organising some things for the holidays. She keeps asking where we are going but I won't tell her. She then asked how will she what to pack, I just said it will be warmer than Melbourne in July.

We stayed at the Warwick a while back and loved it. This time we are staying at the Shangri La, hope it is half as good.

Ms. Shuttergirl thanks for sharing your photo's we stopped in Fiji for 1 night on the way home from the USA last year as we were not really sure it was somewhere we would want to go. We also found the people were the most caring people of anywhere we had ever been we did not see the schools or any of the things you visited due to lack of time but it is definitely something i would like to do our kids loved Fiji and are extremely disappointed we are not flying that way this trip.
We did a day cruise with Whales tale and they were the most friendly accommodating people we have ever come across. I personally think us Westerners could learn a thing or to from them they are so happy :) and grateful in not so great conditions.
:thumbsup2Thanks again for showing us the real Fiji

Great TR and better photos. I love looking at lots of pics! Fiji looks lovely. I might put it on the list for somewhere to go instead of our annual Gold Coast holiday.

What a fun and enriching trip. Thank you for sharing it with us.
