Mine Train Fast Pass...Unbelievable

OP- I can empathize!! And I agree, it stinks! We are staying off site in 2 weeks so we had to go by the 30 day mark...and to this day we still cant a FP for mine train. We are disappointed to say the least.

And for those of you saying to just wait in line, YES, that is an option, but it is still disappointing to not have a chance at FP for it.

I'm currently at 54 days out and I just checked my 7DMT FP+ for Sept 16. We've got a 11:55am FP and when I looked to see available times.......there was only 1 for 4:25. So these FP's get taken real quick.

I would think the only opportunity for a 7DMT FP at 30days and down is the luck of the draw..........checking during the day is best, as others have said. Lunch times and just after dinner are interesting times because that could be when many make changes............just a thought but not gospel.

OP, just want to say I hope you score a FP or at least find a not ridiculously long wait once you get there and ride! I'm surprised you couldn't get even one at 30 days out-although it's a new ride, based on my experience I didn't think they were that difficult to get at a month out:confused3 However, not the first time I thought wrong lol!!

When I did my FP's at 60 days (around 9 in the morning I think), I got everything I wanted and SDMT was available at multiple times every day of our trip next month. I have since switched our park days and FP's about 4 or 5x, and each time I've been able to get mine train again on whatever day I reschedule MK for-even as close as 39 days out, which is the last time I switched everything. So I just thought "wow, not so hard to get!" I do agree waiting until midnight doesn't seem necessary. Didn't do that either trip since FP+ and got what I wanted when I wanted both times.

Good luck and have a great trip!pixiedust:

OK so I got curious now since there seemed to be a good deal of availability 5 days ago for my trip 34 days from now, when I switched my FP's around. Just went on MDE to see if in theory I could switch times for the 2 days I have a SDMT FP - NOPE. No alternate times available either day.

Sorry OP, like I said, good luck and have a great trip regardless. Of course FP isn't the only option, but for something that most likely will have a long line most hours of the day, it sure would be nice to have one;)

I made FP for Aug 2 and 5 at MK yesterday. Everything was available except for Mine Train and A&E (which I don't care about) and the parades. I'm pretty sure we'll be trying to ride the Mine Train late at night on Sat and then at RD on Tuesday if we like it enough.

They must not give out that many FP for it. There seemed to be no limit on the ones for the Mountains, which you think would also be hard to get last minute.

Are you using the MDE app? For some reason, the Mine Train doesn't show up as a FP+ option on my app but it does show up as an option if I log into "mydisneyexperience.com" thru a browser.

I switched our park days for next week this morning and was able to get Mine Train FP+ for Tuesday (less than a week from today), using the full site and not the app!

Must be luck of timing - We got rained out of Mine Train last night and I tried multiple times this morning for a FP for next week (using the web app) and came up with nothing.

I got lucky last week and was able to pick up a Fp+ time for our trip at the end of August. I'm locked in now.

If you go late at night, close to park closing, the standby line usually isn't very long. In our experience the marked SB times were longer than the actual wait and the queue does have some things to do in it. We thought that the ride was better at night anyway. Have fun.

There are probably a few people in the MK today who had plans of getting in the A/E line late at night for a shorter wait. But that got turned on its head with the rollout of their new line system.

7DMT hasn't gone to this yet, but it if things go well with A/E I'd say anything is possible. I'd keep really plugged in here until the day you go in case they mess with that line too.

Yeah, that was my back up and I think that is going to be our only option.

You are aware once your window is open, you can search at any time, correct? Once it was open at 30 days, it's open 24/7. In fact checking at midnight is probably the worst idea, because not many people are probably juggling around plans at that hour.

I've been checking all week at various times while I just sit here on the computer and read the boards, facebook, ect.... NADA

I've been using both, mostly my laptop via the mydisneyexperience site. The mine tain has never come up once as a selectable option, even if I try for a lesser number of guests, all I get is the stan by available message.

I am perplexed as to why FP is the only option. :confused3

If it's not worth the standby wait, why is it worth checking at midnight every night?

As others have said, go at rope drop or late at night.

If you're not willing to do either of these, it must not be very important.

We intend to ride SDMT. My fp window doesn't open until September. If I can't get FP, we will go at rope drop ....

Well, it really isn't that important, it's only a ride and from what I have heard a disappointing one but i would like to decide for myself. It won't ruin our vacation if we don't ride it but as I said, we go to Disney often so we make new attractions our priority. We are not rope drop people, never have been and we have always managed to do what we want. I hated the idea of the new FP system as I knew it would back up stand by lines. Anyway, if we stay late one night at MK we will try to hop on at the end of the night, if not there's always next year. :thumbsup2

(I am going to keep checking for FP's everyday though. It does seem odd though because people are saying they are getting them with ease, and some people are getting them a week out. Maybe my laptop and phone have some kind of anti-mine train bug :rotfl2: )

Great question! Why is it worth checking at midnight every night but not to get up early enough for rope drop?

I can understand not using the late night option. My kids can't stay up that late. However, we always do rope drop.

Well, it's just me staying up trying to get FP's. My kids don't have to stay up, I can reserve 4 FP's by myself without them.

I know some people love rope drop, and I get it. I am up at 5:30 every day, I have slept past 8 am only 6 times in the last 30 years. I would have zero problem being the first person at the parks everyday and it would take me no effort. But we are on vacation, we HAVE to get up every day for work or school, we don't HAVE to get up for vacation. That's how our family views a vacation. In 30+ visits to Disney I have NEVER once done a rope drop. But we are actually doing a rope drop this time. For Diagon Alley, now from what I hear, that is worth it.

I am wondering if the Frozen Summertime Fun and the Villians party are having a bigger impact than thought on the crowds overall for that 3rd week of August and that is affecting the FP availability.

what worked for me - i failed to get 4 passes together. but one at a time, i was able to get 4 overlapping passes. once you have thme, you can keep looking for new times. i've got mine down to all within 15 minutes of the other. which means we have a 45 minute window to ride

good luck

This usually works, I do one at a time and add if it refuses to give me the number I need!

Well, after 7 nights of staying up at midnight and constantly checking throughout the day for 10 straight days,

I hit the jack pot.

1 FP for the 7DMT for our family of 4 :confused3 :rotfl2:

I have 23 days to keep plugging for another 3 :badpc:

Try copying the pass for the rest of your party. If that doesn't work, call Disney IT and have them do it for you.

tried it, doesn't work. It says not all experiences available and it replaces the Mine Train with Splash Mountain. If I call Disney IT will they automatically copy it over regardless of availability? What is the number?

Well, with any luck, maybe your MagicBands™ won't work at the gates, and Guest Services will comp you a "any ride, any time" FP for your troubles...
