mine ride

Do it at rope drop. I was by no means near the front of the pack and I was walking off the ride 20 min after opening. Otherwise, it's a pretty tame coaster. I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for it.

I also would not wait more than 30-40 minutes. It is pretty short-we tried to time it-Splash Mountain is almost 4 times longer.

You could also try it during the parades and fireworks. The line may thin out a little then.

Whether or not it's "worth it" really comes down to personal preference. If you are into big coasters like Everest or RnR, then no, it's not worth it. But if you have small kids who want to ride their "first coaster" or if you are somebody who enjoys the classic Disney dark rides (since 7DMT is really a coaster/dark ride mix) then it is worth waiting for a while. I would be willing to stand for 45 minutes, but that's my cut off for pretty much anything.

It's better to ride at night vs the day. So if you don't have a fast pass, then wait until late and lines go down most of the time

I wouldn't ride without a fast pass, but then I won't wait in any line longer than 15 minutes.

I have ridden it about 5-6 times now and it is cute, but tame and very short.

I also would not ride without a FP if the wait was longer than 30 minutes. It's a cute ride and the video is fun, but not worth 120+ minute wait times.

very cute, but too short and not worth a line more than 30 min. i expected more for the hype they had for it. PLEASE DONT GET ME WRONG. i think that the inside of it is SUPER DUPER AMAZING and i loved it. but you go through it so fast you hardly can see anything and then its like if you blink you miss the whole ride. just needed to be more.

I think that any new ride is worth waiting for ONCE. After that, it's up to the individual.

30 minutes would be our max wait, too, though I think the kids might disagree with that! LOL.

Agreed, we rode it at rope drop on our first day and have the memory maker. We still have no idea how they knew when to record us because I don't remember doing anything with the magic band as we were in the normal queue. Only rode it once. Is basically for the little ones. We did ride Thunder Mountain about 10 times though. Seemed a lot faster and maybe a little different. Might have been my family's fav. ride this trip. Seems like the Mine Train has decreased the wait for Thunder Mountain.

There are long range RFID readers in the rides that offer photos/videos, so that's why there's nothing you need to do to claim your ride photos/videos.

I wouldn't wait more than 15-20min for it. Personally, I'd skip it all together if it were just me. It's too short and not worth a wait. But my DD likes it, so I get a FP for it, but I refuse to wait stand by.

My kids (2 and 4) LOVED it so I would stand in line with them if they really wanted to do it and we didn't have a FP+. My husband said it was "just ok" and he wouldn't ride it without a FP+ (and he's not an adrenaline junkie or anything, he just wasn't all that impressed with it) I found it to be similar (although a bit longer) to BTMRR.

We did it at rope drop! Long line but it went VERY quick. I love this ride, very smooth coaster and what's not too love about the dwarfs. We did it 4 times on our last visit.

I'll let you in on a little secret. When I went I couldn't get a FP either. So, I waited until the evening parade started. My phone App. said 60 minute wait, the sign at the entrance said 70 minutes, but, I wanted to see it so I entered. From entry thru the interactive queue, on the ride and out the exit was less then 30 minutes. It is hard to, since the park opened, to ever find a queue line that short for a very popular ride. You guys have been so spoiled by FP it isn't funny. :)

I am 67 years old, I travel solo now and I found the ride to be fun and well worth it. It was old Disney story telling, fabulously done, but, just in the form of a coaster, but, the coaster slows down like a dark ride in certain spots. The other parts of the coaster ride can be quite exhilarating. Also, the length of it is actually longer then RnRC and no one complains about that.
