Mine Car Crash-any personal safety issues?

Just read about the recent mine car crash at Disneyland, and an earlier incident as well. Also, everyone knows about parade death at the Magic Kingdom at Disney world a few months ago.

Anybody had any safety concerns. As DVC members, I think most of us spend more time than the usual visitor, and are more likely to run into strange situations.

As for me, I got stuck on Space Ship Earth for quite a while once. And, just a few months ago, was "trapped" in the carousel of progress! I don't even like that excibit, but my Wife does. Appearantly, someone went out of one of the emergency exit doors, which cancels the next "rotation", and you have to watch the same show again. Well, ANOTHER MORON decided he couldn't wait, and it happened again, and again, until they finally had to just totally unload and start over.

My experience is more of safety overkill, if anything!

I would agree. I am more fearful of the other park guests than I am of anything Disney does/doesn't do. I have seen too many parents allow their children to climb over/under guardrails, hang their body parts out of moving rides, allow small children to sit on rides closest to the open side. They create additional hazards for themselves and other guests.

I recall that a teen-aged girl died on the Haunted Mansion some years ago after she climbed out of her seat and attempted to ride on top of its roof. Nobody "deserves" to die, but she certainly deserved a spanking!

My sense is that if someoone gets killed or injured at WDW it is more out of their own stupidity(see previous post re:Haunted Mansion death)rather than a safety malfunction.

I recall a few years ago someone was killed on Splash Mountain when they tried to climb out of the logs before going up the hill toward the big drop. Well, is that a safety malfunction??? Not really. It's someone doing something totally stupid and , unfortunately, paying the price.
