I bought a 2003 GMC Envoy a little over a year ago. It has been in the shop around once a month for the past few months. This last episode with the Envoy - I'm going on 3 days without my car. Yes, they gave me a loaner - a Dodge Neon .

My gripe? I paid $40k for a car that I'm having issues with. If they have my car for one day - they actually want me to RENT a car from them - EXCUSE ME??

Any one else have an Envoy (or a Chevy Trailblazer) that's having issues?

Thanks for listening!!

My parents have a blazer, and have had tons of problems with it also; although I'm not sure of the year, it is very recent. They had problems with the antilock brakes, electrical system, ignition, but all at different times, and all being extended fixes. They are not very happy with it either.

Sorry you're having to deal with vehicle problems.

I have a '99 Chevy Blazer with just under 80,000 miles and so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any problems with it and I've owned it just over 2 years now.

DH has a '99 Dodge Ram truck that he bought used just over a year ago, and had several problems with it at first. Like your vehicle, his was having a problem about every month, $300 here, $500 there, ugh!! They finally got everything fixed and so far (again, knock on wood) so good. It's annoying though to get something fixed, and then have something else go wrong.

I don't think it's right that if they're keeping your car 3 days to repair it you should have to RENT one from them. They should give you the loaner FREE for the duration.

My sympathies.:(

Brand new car, $40k, many issues over the past few months...it just isn't right!:(

And then to top it off...having to RENT the car...seems like GMC should give you a voucher or something...

if it's the same problem and you live in PA..check into the lemon law...

I agree with Mickey, check into PA's lemon law.

We have a love/hate relationship with our '03 Trailblazer.

We love the truck - nice size, looks good. Hate the never-ending problems. Let's see...we've been thru: Windshield wipers that would not turn off...A/C blower died....Brake lights did not work (Took 2 times to fix that)...I could go on and on. Plus, you get a new recall notice almost every week in the mail!

Glitches in new vehicles are SOOOO common.. If you can stand the thought of not experiencing that "new car smell", buy a vehicle that is a year or two old - AFTER someone else has already gone through all of the initial headaches and had them resolved..;)

I would definitely call GMC customer service and lodge a complaint! There is NOOO reason you should be put thru this much inconvience and expense for a vehicle that is not even a year old!!!!!!!!!! None of this work falls under your warranty? Grr I would be very angry about all this and definitely get GMC involved if your local dealership is not budging.

Definitely check out the lemon law--google "lemon law" and the state you live in and you should come to a website for it. We had a Chevy Malibu that had many problems from day 1. The check engine light came on the 1st day I drove it. I went to the shop at least once a month for minor problems. Somebody told me about the lemon law so I looked it up, filed a suit and we won!! GM bought our car back and we bought a Toyota!!! I think the rule is if you've brought it in 6 or 7 times in the 1st year it's covered under the lemon law. Be sure to keep all your receipts from the dealer when it goes in. Good luck!
