Milwaukee is getting a USL Championship team in 2025. Will it succeed?

If they sell beer at a reasonable price it will succeed. If they charge as much as the Brewers and Bucks, it won't. There aren't enough hardcore soccer fans to sustain it but reasonable ticket and beer prices will make it attractive to many more.

It’s minor league soccer, so it shouldn’t be MLS prices.

Would you go to a game?

Minor league or not doesn't seem to affect prices. The Saint Paul Saints charge just about the same for beer and food as a minor league team as the Major League team does in the Minnesota Twins. When the Loons were still USL and they played in the suburbs very few people went to see them, but they had their devoted fans that filled it up. They've kept their prices fairly low with the new stadium in Saint Paul. The Minneapolis area is much more soccer mad than Milwaukee, I don't think there are enough die hards to keep them afloat without reasonable prices, especially on beer because it is Wisconsin.

If the prices were reasonable and I had something else I was doing in Milwaukee maybe. I highly doubt I'm going to drive the 80 miles just to watch a soccer match. If my kids were into it I would go, but they don't care about sports at all.

They claim (according to the videos), there is a big Latino population and that youth soccer is growing in the area. Madison WI has a team and it’s seems to draw a decent crowd. This team would be at a level above that.

Suggestions for a team name or mascot?

MKE does not have the Latino or soccer population that MSP has and the Loons almost folded there a few times before they made it to MLS. Looking into it a little bit and seeing that the plan is for the owner of the team, who also owns a part of the Bucks, is going to own and develop the property near Marquette University. He seems like the type that will put his own money in and take the loss for his own reasons. Will it turn a profit? No. Will it fold? No. I don't think it will be completed on time either. There will be a lot of issues with the project being called racist and trying to gentrify the area.
